^^^Not for me, but pretty cool overall. Funny, had a WK Jeep almost just like that one, including the 5.7 Hemi and F/R lockers and that color...It had SD rather than MAF, so much easier to make a custom CAI, etc....fun to change 16 plugs and hated the DoD when it engaged, but otherwise that was a nice ride. Only took it to the mountains once, so never got to test it like I wanted to...Came from a '98 5.9 ZJ a couple vehicles prior and have to say the '98 was better than the '05 I had, especially since it had SFA and that engine was begging to be released (408 stroker, mmm). Sorry for the side story, just reminded me of that Jeep I had.

One fun thing that first gens can do is run a tube on top of the fender:

Here's another thought for a modular design:

Steeze has done a really good job of cleaning house so I can't find any of his stuff anymore, but he had a mini-snorkel that came up to just above the side mirror.

Finally, check this out. 2014 Subaru Forester - Custom Snorkel Build

I also couldn't find any pics of steeze's snorkel. The last time I saw pics of it was about a year ago or so. Oh well

Steeze went bazurk after someone pissed him off and deleted every single picture he's ever posted. He had some far fetched ideas but that's what made his mods so awesome. One of a kind mods

Reviving an old thread, any recent DIY snorkles?

I had a 2005 x sold it - got an Armada(now on second one) and now also own a 2015 Pro4x-

I have a hard time pulling the trigger on a $400 snorkle-

Wait for a group buy to come around, a bunch of us paid $280 shipped last month.

I thought about retro fitting another snorkel but seeing how snug fitting the airflow is to the fender made it worth it for me.

I made a snorkel form a first gen Navara and functionally it worked, aesthetically it was a nightmare. What I learned was for something to have the correct fit and finish, either pay up the big bucks, or consider making one out of fiberglass using a foam mold. The other option is TIG welding your own out of stianless pipe like they do in Australia a lot of the times. There are a few instructionals on the fiberglass version on the IH8MUD.com site.
