Way back when, there was a fella called Steeze who fiberglassed up a neat modular snorkel that used three different intake heights. He's gone all crazy cave recluse on us so you won't see much evidence of his work.

I've found several advanced DIY snorkel guides if you want to glass up your own. I would have done my own if I didn't stumblr on a killer deal on a used Airflow (which I use a mushroom head on).

Steeze has done a really good job of cleaning house so I can't find any of his stuff anymore, but he had a mini-snorkel that came up to just above the side mirror.
