Worked on the X over the weekend. Got a few things done even though things didn't go as smooth as I had planned. I painted the skids but only had enough cans for 3/5 of them + brackets. Will get the rest done this week.

Hefty only included half of the hardware for some reason so I had to run over to the hardware store yesterday. They had already closed. So the gas tank skid was the only one that I got on. Chris said he would overnight some over to me this AM. We'll see. I won't be working on them till next weekend.

Did a regular D&F on the tranny + engine oils on the X and wife's car while I was at it. Femco went on the X.

Wheel well liners went back on, added extra support for the snorkel to reduce vibes, got a tire rotation + balance, cleaned everything under the hood, unmounted the front recovery points in preparation for paint + Hefty rad skid, removed stock rad skid, patched up my gas tank's war scars and added some buckles to my CVT.

Got the X a new floor (chip texture floor coating) to sit on over the weekend. My brother and I did it. Came out really nice!
Before:
After:

It was a pretty labor intensive job but my brother is a pro so it worked out great. Friday-Sunday night to install + dry. Paint, cabinets, and shelving are next.
However, that didn't stop me from working on the X in the driveway.
Got the rear corner all buttoned up:
Piked up the rear bumper on Friday from my powder coater. I kept going back and forth on the finish as my first choice was Line X. Ended up getting a textured "Black hammer" paint that I am VERY pleased with:

So those got installed:

Going to take care of the PC this time a little more:

Also, slapped on a couple more skids w/ my dad. Waiting on the rest to dry up:

Well, this happened over the weekend:

Both HatterZXY and I agreed that the 40" curved light bar looked like crap up there, so it came off:

Got to check out Ryan's other pride and joy. This things is a beast and it doesn't even have it's new shoes on yet:

Also, finally replaced the EVAP canister and did the bypass:

Sold my CVT RTT :( on the bright side, I am shopping for a JB hard shell :) Also, thinking of starting a thread for the M416 as I already ordered some toys including a Max coupler. Tent will be going on the trailer. All the real work will start in a couple week.

To-list for now:
-Stripping the trailer
-Extending tongue
-Swapping the Lunette w/ Max coupler (not liking the pintle hitch rattle).
-Flipping axle (might end up getting a new one w/ electric actuating brakes and matching bolt pattern as I want to run the same tire/wheel combo as the X). I haven't ruled out new hubs or spacers/adapters
-Longer shocks
-All new hardware
-New 12v lighting

For later:
-Rear bumper w/ receiver hitch (for bikes)
-Wheels + tires
-Trailer tongue spare tire mount
-Stabilizing jacks
-Jerry can mounts
-Blasting/painting + line-x on the inside
-Lid + shocks
-Rails to mount RTT

Lol. Been there before. Out at a friend ranch which has several small ponds. Had driven across a dried up one all weekend. My buddy in a cherokee stopped on the pond skin, and gave it a bit too much gas when getting going (not excessive.... but cracked the surface). Rear sank 6in immediately. Knew he was in trouble, so shifted to 4wd... next thing we knew it was frame on the surface all the way around. Ground was HARD... we TRIED to do a burnout on some 4x4 quads, but they didn't break the surface. Also go his small John Deere almost sank pulling the cherokee out. Had to use a bull dozer on dry ground to pull the Deere before it got too deep. Gotta be careful of those cracked surfaces... often has some REALLY soft ground under them. Might as well be driving on thin ice.
