what does the inner Screen look like??. Is it a fine mesh?. Can it be cleaned?.

Due to my Dealing with Paint chips in my cans. Lucky they were stopped by my Fuel filter gizmo, before going into main tank.

IF they look & work great. will ditch my Siphon hose & get one of those.

The screen is pretty much like a piece of window screen stuck in it where the plastic meets the metal. Looks like it will be cleaned easily by blowing compressed air through it backwards, or pouring some water or fuel through it backwards.

Havent received the cans yet, but today my two semi-flex spouts from BritishPacific.com arrived. They came with all mounting hardware and a spout reducer, as well as a built in debris screen and are glossy olive green.

In the photo the reducer is a 1/2" nipple to spout and should fit the same diameter as the supersiphon hose. If you wanted to extend the spout to a 1/2" diameter hose you may also have an easier time filling your tank. as well as being able to mount an inline Moeller filter. :)

Cool.. that is a bonus..to be able to clean it.. and Also add Siphon hose to it as Secondary filter system..

A nice find.

The Swiss can Spout also has a screen inside, I used a plastic funnel hose, cut to squeeze in the tip of the spout, fits right in the tank no problem!

Woot! Santa in the brown shorts just dropped of my fuel jerrycans (and replacement rubber seals). That was pretty quick! I ordered on Saturday, and received them today! (Imagine if Shrock was like that!) I can confirm they are new, and non-carb. Build date is 2004. I will note that while the ones in the photo with the 7 cans Chris posted are gloss olive, the actual ones that I received are olive drab. So the spouts and the cans are both olive, but the can is drab and the spout is gloss. This is fine by me, and definitely not a deal-breaker by any means, but I did want to note that so others are aware.

Pics or it didn't happen:

WOW those are purdy Cans.. My luck.. had to buy used ones.. chuckles.

Dang. those are nice.. wonder how long the stock will last.. & how they can sell them without the Carb PC correct crap.

did you need to order the replacement seals or did you buy them for future use? i ordered yesterday, so they should be here friday hopefully. i haven't gotten an e-mail back yet about the spouts, so i will call tomorrow.

thanks again chris! :salute:

I just ordered the replacement seals for future use. The seals are the only thing that really wears out on these, so its kind of considered a consumable, sort of like brake pads. The thing is that with my luck, the a seal would start to leak the night before I leave for a long weekend camping-wheeling trip. So, I'd much rather be able to say "no biggie" and grab one off my shelf and be on my way, rather than have to go all weekend sloshing gas on the roof of my truck because there are no local sources and I have to mail order a new one.

I had to break down and get four, they will look so sweet on top of my X.

Ok, so I should order some cans, a ss spout, and replacement gaskets. Anything else I need for these?

Oh, who has a good deal on a transfer pump? ( with inline filter perfered )

Thx.

They arrived today(damnnnn Fasst) 2 days shipping.
Mine arrived and they are gloss green. so they must have two lots.
You may wish to specify on your order if this is important to you.
These also have the lock pin where my original NATOs from SwissArmyVehicles did not.

Most people will know they are military grade cans. I wouldn't bother painting them red unless it is a personal thing.

Personally, I want mine staying the olive drab color. Just in case i have to be on the "run" during 2012, I don't want to be broadcasting that I have fuel and nothing screams that more than a BRIGHT RED Jerry can

SO now I have 4 Reds for around the house and 4 greens for the apocalypse. :):)

i got them today as well. mine are also the gloss green. :rockin:
Interesting... Just out of curiosity, what year is stamped on the side of yours?

At least mine or both drab. Better than getting one gloss and one drab I guess. Kinda wish mine were the gloss to match the spouts and my new water can. Speaking of which, it came last night from expedition exchange. And for those curious, the spout is exactly the same as a fuel one (screen and all) just panted a different color. The can is also the same build, but it has a different lining for h2o which would likely flake apart if you used it for fuel. Anyway:

I can't believe mine came today, I am in Nevada but still! (next day) Mine are gloss green with gold locking pins, I think all of these cans are the same, it's just the lighting in the pictures that make them look different! The cans are nice, but I still like my swiss cans, IMO the swiss cans seem just a little more heavy duty but without the locking pin I think the new ones go on top of my X!
