I set an alert on eBay for new items a month or so ago, but haven't received notification. I searched eBay again recently, and am not finding anything. Too bad it's not an option from Nissan, available at Nissan parts dealers.
The best way to do it is to setup a GB and go that route. I did one earlier this year or last... can't remember. It brought the price down to $40 ea as opposed to what the individual cost would be.

Some do come up on Ebay, but they are far and few in between. Good luck in your search.

Looks like $52 from Bisco is their current price ... I think that's where I sourced mine, way back when. Then wound up going Gobi before getting much (any? ... having a hard time remembering the details, just now ... it's late ...) use out of it.

Another reason for a locking latch

Was waxing the X a few weeks ago and needed to see the roof. Noticed my crossbars on the rack were at a slant. Looked closer and someone had attempted to take them off. Then I discovered that the thief ripped off (literally) the lid of my roof bin, leaving pieces of it behind, so it will be useless to him or anyone else. If I had put on the locking latch it never would have happened. Anyway, I sourced a complete box and lid on Ebay and then searched high and low for the latch. Got one at Bisco industries for $57. Went to put it on and noticed the differences that are on page 3 of this thread -- however I did not have a spacer, since the old handle had a longer collar, so I put it on without a spacer and hope that doesn't matter? If anyone has dealt with the spacer problem, I would like to know what solution they came up with. Anyway, a word to the wise: A locking latch may prevent someone from stealing your lid!

Found this one on ebay. New Southco Powder Coated Locking L-handle Adjustable Cam Latch Part #92-42-521 | eBay

Looks like the only difference (from what i gathered on their product pages) between this and the 92-42-511 is that the 511 is "turn clockwise" to latch and this is "turn counter-clockwise" to latch and that the bolt that runs through is a little longer, which shouldn't matter because you could trim it, still has the short pawl so no striker plate as other's have mentioned should be needed?, but couldn't you just turn it upside down and connect the internals (IE stock handle goes from straight up to pointing right as well as the 92-42-511) this one would just go from straight up to pointing left?

Looks like the most important thing is making sure you get a short pawl version (last number in part number will be a 1)

Below is a part number breakdown on the southco latches part #'s and what they mean. Also, due to the way their part numbers work, it means searching ebay is gonna be a pain, as you'll have to search each part number, or do a general search and brouse through all the listings.
92-X
In the middle series of numbers on the first number determines style and if it locks, a 2 means T handle locking, and a 4 means L handle locking (1 and and 3 for non lock versions respectively).

92-4X
The second number determines which way it closes to latch, 1 being clockwise, and 2 being counter clockwise.

92-42-X
The First number of the third series determines finish. 1 for chrome, 5 for powder coat black.

92-42-5X
The second number in the third series determines grip range, or length of the "shaft" bolt that runs from the handle, all the way through whatever your latching. 1 shortest, 2 medium, 3 longest. (shaft bolt has to be trimmed for 2 and 3 lengths)

92-42-51X
The third number in the third series determines pawl length (or the metal portion that's actually turning to latch / unlatch) 1 for short, 2 for long. 1 is what you need

^^ZheKing found a cheaper Southco alternative latch (details in this thread):

The Southco part # 92-42-521 currently available via ebay.

The trick, per the above link, is to swap the locking bars and trim the shaft bolt.

Finally installed this today. For Canadians looking for a source with a reasonable price, I ordered it from http://www.parsonsaero.com/ in Hamilton, Ontario. The Southco part 92-41-511 was Cdn$69 plus tax and shipping. All-in was about $95. Steep for a silly handle, but the US sources were $150-200 delivered.

Order was by email, they ship the part with an invoice, and you pay by cheque (quaint). Took about 3 weeks to arrive because they order it from elsewhere.

Got my southco 92-21-511 t-handle through bisco industries, think it was under $70 Cdn. Used NICO club.com for the service manual on how to remove the roof box, this was beneficial as it was -17 degrees in Calgary last week when I did this. The factory stricker plate only needed slight filing to fit over the southco bolt. Proved itself useful, as now I store my recovery gear in the roof box, helped 3 stranded drivers this past weekend in the snow storm, building karma points.

Just as a heads up, if anyone wants to save some money, there is this alternative handle on AliExpress. Listed for $27.50 + $7.07 shipping -- total for me after tax was $36.70. Shipping took about a month. No issues on the install at all other than having to trim the shaft bolt on the handle (2 minutes with the grinder took care of that, and I used the hardware that came with the handle to chase the threads, even though I do have a tap and die kit). Same threads as the original handle -- M10-1.5.
