How-to: Front Diff Breather Filter Mod

I was bored on Sunday afternoon so decided to poke around my engine compartment. It was pretty dusty from ripping around on logging roads, and I noticed the front breather tube was covered in dust too. While it's unlikely that any of that dust might get sucked in, I figured hey - why not put a filter on the end? Quick and easy mod for a few bucks, and then the front diff breather can feel special like the rear diff breather and it's mod.

Yeah, this mod is almost certainly overkill, as is a how to on doing it :) But for a few bucks, good peace of mind knowing I won't be sucking in any more dust than necessary, considering that tube vents the front diff, tranny and I think also the transfer case?

Anyways.

Step 1 - Buy filter:

Step 2 - Stick it on the tube, and zip tie it away so it doesn't rattle.

Step 3 - Drive in dusty conditions! :)

Hahaa!

Nice job. I had located my breather up a Tad higher. ... no filter as of yet.
The cleanliness of your engine bay puts mine to shame.

OK, for those of us who are both slow as well as visually impaired, is the above picture showing the left or right side of the engine compartment? I'm guessing that is the oil dipstick in the background...

Also, what size hose?

Here ends stupid questions.
