I was bored on Sunday afternoon so decided to poke around my engine compartment. It was pretty dusty from ripping around on logging roads, and I noticed the front breather tube was covered in dust too. While it's unlikely that any of that dust might get sucked in, I figured hey - why not put a filter on the end? Quick and easy mod for a few bucks, and then the front diff breather can feel special like the rear diff breather and it's mod.
Yeah, this mod is almost certainly overkill, as is a how to on doing it
But for a few bucks, good peace of mind knowing I won't be sucking in any more dust than necessary, considering that tube vents the front diff, tranny and I think also the transfer case?
Anyways.
Step 1 - Buy filter:
Step 2 - Stick it on the tube, and zip tie it away so it doesn't rattle.
Step 3 - Drive in dusty conditions!
