I recently suffered the dreaded ABS VDC off and SLIP lights all coming on at once I found out I had a LF wheel speed sensor code and also had a code for the steering angle sensor in safe mode. I changed out the sensor but still had the angle sensor code I was able to reset it by clearing the ABS codes while driving with my new code scanner. I got a sweet deal on the scanner with trading in my old one. If you have an Innova 3120 or 3140 model scanner you can trade it in and get the 3150e that does ABS and SRS as well as the OBD2 for 89.99 plus tax and shipping

Very cool, I have my vdc off and slip lights on on too and need to get them reset, or read to see what the issue is. That scanner is ver nice, but is close to $500. Anyone ever use this one? Says it will reset SAS, but I'd like to be a lil more sure before I buy. Also would like to know if it will cycle the ABS pump. I'd rather buy a tool I can keep and fix it myself instead of spending the same money at the dealer

Not really related to Firestone, but if it helps, the older SAS can be reset without Consult. I forget what year it changed, but the 07 FSM says it on page 125 of BRC:

WITHOUT CONSULT-II
Set the steering wheel in a straight forward position and drive the vehicle at 10 mph (15 km/h) or more for 10 minutes. When the procedure is complete, the SLIP indicator lamp and VDC OFF indicator lamp will turn off.
The new ones seem to need the VIN programmed into the SAS as part of the center position reset for some reason. :dontknow:
I do know the Autel MK808 says it will do it but failed on my 09. I haven't gotten around to spending time with their tech support people to help fix it.

With my autel(maxicheck pro), you can reset it. It's a round about way to get there. I have to go into "abs" menu, then "special functions' and it's in there. Why you can just go into the "SAS" menu is beyond me.
