Hey guys I am new to forum so be easy. I have a 2006 x with auto and 3.13 gears. I have 33's on veh and not enough gear. What is involved in swaping to an m226 with the lower gearing. Do I need to switch drive shafts from a manual x and if I find an o/r version what is involved with the making the locker work. Tx

Other people are going to chime in here soon but the very basic answer is that the M226 is pretty easy to swap in place of the C200k. Is your truck 2WD? if so the matching of the gears doesnt matter, obviously with 4WD you have to make the gears in the front match the gears in the back. You do not need to switch any drive shafts though, the M226 will bolt in fine. Check out the thread below this, it's got a bunch of good info on the subject.

Thanks and by the way I have a 2wd. I was looking a an m226 from a man with the lower of the gear offering. If I can find an o/r version is there anything to making the locker work. Since I think it is an Elock is there any way to hook it up on my non o/r X..tx

Here is a couple threads that should cover the subject fairly in depth. It should be pretty simple though. The M226 will bolt right in, I dont know much about the 2WD aspect of this but it shouldnt really be much different than the 4WD swap other than the fact that you dont have to match any front gears. It is an E locker so you would just need the wiring harness to hook that up. There is also something to do with ABS, cant remember what it is that you need there but it should be covered in one of these threads I threw in here.

IIRC, I believe the 2WD driveshaft is a 4 bolt flange...so you will need to make sure the pinion flange matches the 4 bolt design and not the 6 bolt variant found in all the 4WD models of the axles.

Additionally, you will need abs sensors for the M226 if they do not already come with it. The ABS sensors for an M226 have only one bolt hole to mount to the axle collar and not two like the C200K. The ABS electronics themselves work just fine with this swap.

for the elocker, you can just hook up a switch in the cab, send it fused power, and run it to the back. As long as your diff has the E-locker harness on it you can just terminate the power to the gray wire..and the blue wire to the chassis (ground) of the vehicle. If you don't have the harness you can order it from cherry hill nissan (ask for brian) for 15 dollars. hope this helps. :)
