newb question...but why would these guys possibly get a cease & desist on selling these cans? are they illegal or something?
There is a federal law banning the sale of new non-carb compliant gas cans in ANY STATE in the U.S. Selling these cans NEW is a FEDERAL OFFENSE!!! Thus they will likely be forced to seize and desist once the first tree hugger with too much time on his hands finds their website and rats them out.

Here is the official law if you want to read up.

Note that if you thoroughly read the document, you will find that while the document was written in 2007, it discusses a "Phase in" of step by step regulation with different compliances to be met by different years up 2015.

The bottom line being, anyone who has been wanting or even considering purchasing some jerrycans; jump on this now! ;)

Pardon my ignorance here, but the main difference between these and the CARB compliant cans is, these pour better? Is that right? My question is, for those who are shopping for cans (and I am), can you tell me why these are better than the CARB cans? Thanks!

The CARB cans leak like a sieve, pour like sh!t and most of the time 75% of whatever is in the can ends up on the ground. The NATO cans, dont leak, have an awesome spout you can buy, one was already posted, which ensures less spills.

The last few I used of those Carb set ups.. had Fuel spilled on my Dress slacks & shoes. I gave that can away.

The NATO one are Metal, takes hell of a beating on the trail. Or around the house, They are solid!!. Can't say that to Plastic.. that might rupture OR rub through.

I love mine!!.. If I did not buy 4 new tires would be buying More Nato can's.

Are you referring to the cheap Blitz cans or Scepter cans?

I just ordered a can and a semi-flex spout. think they'll ship the can to CA? I want it for my drive back to IN so i don't run out of gas again...:)

Did you see that they won't have the semi flex spouts till October? I ordered a semi flex spout from the Britishproducts place above. They had them in stock.

Changed my order to 4, to get the free shipping. 2 for me, and 2 for logisense. :eek:ccasion5:

i suppose we have to rattle can, or powdercoat, these red...correct?
Most people will know they are military grade cans. I wouldnt bother painting them red unless it is a personal thing.

Personaaly, I want mine staying the olive drab color. Just in case i have to be on the "run" during 2012, I dont want to be broadcasting that I have fuel and nothing screams that more than a BRIGHT RED jerry can

anyone around Denver want to split an order of 4?
PM me if you do.

Has anyone received their cans yet? how's the quality?

Havent received the cans yet, but today my two semi-flex spouts from BritishPacific.com arrived. They came with all mounting hardware and a spout reducer, as well as a built in debris screen and are glossy olive green. I can confirm that they are indeed un-leaded size and fit in the Xterra's filler neck (as opposed to the leaded type which are thicker and will not fit the Xterra without using a funnel). They are looking sharp! Note to others: my USPS priority mail cardboard box was a styrofoam peanut grenade. Open with care.

Thanks again for the help Chris! :eek:ccasion5:
