Front solid axle I think too. It’s weird seeing my 2002 Pathfinder steering wheel in something that new. I also think there’s some other interior parts that are originally from the 90s and early 2000s as well.

 

It does have a lot of design elements from the gen 2 Xterra.

 

Those are still built new, but the platform & vehicle is a couple gens old at this point. Just like how they built Jeep XJ cherokees in China until like 2014 haha.

I agree tho, that is my favorite version of the Patrol. The newest gen is still somewhat capable but is too gaudy in the styling

 

THAT answers my question. I thought they had moved on to a new gen. Guess most countries did.

 

As much as I'm a Nissan fanboy, people are all about looks and features nowadays.

Ford Bronco > Patrol Super Safari

I'm giving it a couple years to see what or if Nissan brings anything to the table. I know I'm already leaning towards Bronco regardless as I know Japanese manufacturers just don't seem interested in factory front lockers.

 

The Nissan engine specs on the 4.8l are really nice.
4.8l inline six / 280hp / 332lb/ft of torque

 

Patrol's may be very capable but man are they boring to look at. Reminds me of a Montero.
