HEY GUYS, so I'm in a dilemma and need advice. I've narrowed my search to these 2.
Which based on experience would you recommend? I hit dirt trails, occasional run into mud or puddles on trails but majority would be like Raisch Creek or desert-like trails in Nevada or through cascades or sierras, I love going up to Tahoe.
I will be purchasing Load E. I need the best gripped tires for my regime & piece of mind aswell knowing they'll hold up in traction. My buddy has KO2s but I know it's soft compound & limited siping. I had the ATMs as a stock 2 ply on my '15 pro & thought they were phenomenal. I live in Eastern PA west of Allentown with large snowfall & I do a good 20K miles a year. I'd like to know other owners of these 2 as how they compare to each other. Jack Williams & local tire quoted 190$ for KOOKs & 228 for KO2s. I installed my 2" nisstec lift so I'll be looking at 285 75 16s

My dad has these on his 2009 Frontier Pro4X and I've got to drive it quite a bit. They were great off road on the trails to get in to our camp, no problems whatsoever in going over obstacles, through mud etc. They also get good fuel mileage and aren't too loud for road noise during daily driving or on the highway, and were fine towing our trailer along. They are amazing in the snow considering they're an AT tire, had no problems on the highway in -35C during a blizzard when most other vehicles had to pull over or slow to a crawl. Previously had the first version of them on a 97 Landcruiser and the KO2s are even better. As an added bonus they look great! I plan to put them on my X as soon as I can, hope that helps!

I have the Hankook Dynapro ATm they are a good tire for beginners, but they have a thin sidewall inly 4 ply. They have held up threw the torment that I put them through to my surprise. Had them for a year and still rolling strong, kind of wished I would have gone with the KO2's or the Duratac's instead. I'll get them when these tires are done, maybe next year.

Well Celt, thank you aswell for your input! I appreciate every fellow friend on here posting their own experiences as everyone is different. Off road tires I admit I'm still learning,if you ask me performance for Euros I'd be answering questions haha But you're right aswell being a 4ply on the KOOKs especially if I'm 30 miles from a turnoff in the Nevada wilderness.... Well you & the other friends on this thread have helped me decide upon KO2s I think....

Ko2s!! Love mine so far. I would be hard pressed to compare the ko2s to the general at3's. They seem to be very similar in tread design. But the ko2s have a stronger side wall and it's why I chose them.

Don't know the others, but LOVE my KO2s. BF Goodrich Allterrain TAs are about all I've ever run. the KO2s are awesome. The ONLY issue I've had with them is when I'm going up a really steep trail and hit a rock or something. I never air down though, so that's probably my fault. But on road, off road, rain, snow, mud, dry, they always rock.

Obligatory KO2 support. I have somewhere around 10k miles on mine already, and they still look new.

I never air down though, so that's probably my fault.
They like to lower pressures, too. If I don't air down, I can easily spin them in loose dirt. Which isn't a mark of a bad tire; it's physics.

Depends how much snow you see and if you run one set annually. Seems like KO2's are a better fit for you if you do run just one set. I run 285 M/T's in the summer and the stock 265 Hankooks in the winter. We have about 5 months of winter. They are the best performing winter tire I have ever had (I have had about 6-7 different types on my winter vehicles) but I would not take them on dedicated trails. Maybe FSR's on occasion.

Had the Hankooks come stock with my Pro4x. Live out here in Oregon, they did a great job last winter while doing a 1800 mile road trip to Tahoe going through several cascade passes with snow and ice. On slippage I had was starting from full stop but then again I drive a manual. Only have taken my X so far on forest service roads through Washington and Oregon and I am pleased with their performance. However the side walls don't seem as heavy duty as the bfko2 I checked out in Costco. By they way the 285s are priced at $196 each if you buy 4. If my tires didn't only have 15k on them I might have a new set of ko2s right now. ?

4 KO2's 265/75R16 Load E installed with 1 year of alignments, 1 year of road hazard, lifetime rotating, lifetime balancing and lifetime flat repair was $758.49.

The manager said they do the "Buy 2 Get 2" promotion completely random and it depends when the manufacturers want to play. Check their website often.
