Looking for some input about OEM vs aftermarket.
2010 Off Road, first owner. Z1 has OEM Inner Tie Rods for $125.00 and OEM outers for about $70.00. Moog has their Inner for about $50.00 and their outer in the $60.00 range. I always thought MOOG was better then OEM but the price difference, in theory, tells me different. And a sub question about the outer tie rods. Whats up with the HEIM Outer Tie Rods? Dramatic price difference. Are they worth it? Looking to pull the trigger in about 2-3 weeks. Recently completed the Z1 adjustable UCAs and the Hayaku LCAs, new Bilstein shocks all the way around. Just ordered the MOOG front sway bar end links and the front and rear sway bar bushing rebuild kits with rear sway bar end liks from Z1 tonight. Body mounts are on the short list.
So, whatchyas got and thank you for any advice.

Hitachi is OEM...go to Rock Auto and buy Hitachi. Should be be about 50 bucks each.

You're not titan swapped I don't think nor are you hard core offroading. My undestanding of HEIM tie rods is that they allow more articulation....but I have never studied it. Someone else probably knows more. I'd not do it until there was a need.

When I replaced the rods on a friend's Xterra, we went with Hitachis from RockAuto. The LCAs were Moog.
When I Titan Swapped my two rigs, both inner and outer rods were Hitachi from Rock Auto. I have had no issues with the rods on either rig.

Moog isn't as good as it used to be.
As others have said the best quality is OEM which is Hitachi and cheapest price is Rock Auto.

For lower control arms the best are OEM and they are only $55 from Nissan so cheaper than even the junk aftermarket ones.
I think I went with Moog over OEM due to the greasable option, and also because stock/availability.

I wasn't Titan swapped, but had a 'disposable' X that I beat the hell out of before it was decommissioned. Broke CV's but not a tie rod...

My vote is to get what fits your budget; (2) of each so you have a spare. Doesn't matter how great a rod end you got if you are stranded offroad somewhere.

Assume the heims would be eaten by NE road salt.

Thank You All for the advice. No to the Titan swap. This is my daily and I have no plans or interest in selling or trading in. The Hitachi info is good stuff. I didnt know that. The HEIM outers where just a thought. Scratch that idea. Way to much for the outcome. I may or may not get a 2” lift in the future. Jury is still out on that one. I have many other parts I’m looking to replace for improvement and extending the life of this vehicle. Some are original on 165k. Front and rear bushings with rear links are arriving tomorrow. Moog front links Tuesday. Clear up the card and order the body mounts from Z1. I’m looking to replace parts before they fail. Plus I get to buy some cool tools.
Again. Thank You All for the replies.

When the parts are available, I've been purchasing the Mevotech TTX parts. They are heavy-duty parts with a lifetime warranty at a reasonable price. I first discovered them when I needed sway bar links for my 2003 Frontier. Later, I purchased their front wheel bearing hub kits for my 2012 Xterra. They have TTX outer tie rods and sway bar links for the N50 Xterras. I also prefer the Mevotech Supreme parts over their Moog counterparts. Check them out next time you need parts; Rockauto offers them in many cases.
