Anybody ever problems with the lower radiator fan shroud coming loose? I had a noise coming from the area right infront of the oil filter, and noticed that the shroud was loose enough to make contact with the fan. Got under the X, popped it back in, but it's pretty loose to begin with. There's a plastic clip on the left and right side of shroud, but they're not very tight. It was the right side that was coming loose for me. It would drop, sending the left side of the shroud into the fan. Thanks!

Technically...

The fan shroud aids in the circulation of air being pulled by the fan operating. The fan is a puller, meaning it pulls air through the radiator and not a pusher that pushes air out through the radiator. The shroud is to not only protect, it's to keep the air flowing over the radiator fins -- one could overheat without it. Notice I said "could" and not "will".

well my lower fan shroud came loose today while wheeling and made and awe full noise, but trying to pin point the source of the sound was impossible until we looked under the X and :violent1: fan was scratching the loose shroud. So just cut it and continued...no issue with the engine temp (outside temp almost 38 deg C)
