This past weekend some effing kids smeared hot roasted marshmallow on my X, along with a couple other cars next to me. Has anyone ever had to remove marshmallow? This stuff is worse then tar or paint!!! I tried a wd40, heat gun, and gently scraping. I'm afraid to scratch up my paint if scrap harder, and it still leaves a sticky residue that wont come off!

Don't know how it will affect the paint (test first?), but have you tried Goo Gone or acetone?

I haven't tried goof off yet. I'm afraid to use acetone.

Has anyone used goof off on their truck? And did it harm the clear coat?[/QUO

use turtle wax bug and tar remover, it does not strip wax or the clear coat. use a bug sponge it is a soft sponge with perforated holes. i used it on sap which is hard to get off. let the product soak for a few mins. whip off

also to help loosen it use use a hair dryer on low about 4-5 inches from the paint use common sense while using it. i have done it it works

how the f* do you rub roasted marshmallows on someone's car??!! did they build a campfire next to your truck too?

I used carburetor cleaner to removed 5 year old sun-baked tree sap from my 77 Datsun 280Z and it worked GREAT w/o damaging the paint at all. I then went over it w/ claybar and wax. Wouldn't ever know it was there.

I'd use a hair dryer to heat and remove all that I could, then soak the remainder with WD-40 (peanut butter might work too, it's the peanut oil that does the trick) for a few minutes and rub it off with a terry cloth rag. Throw on a coat of wax and you're done.

as for the OP...yes goo gone works very well...I took spray paint off my rig after mischief night a year or two ago with it....no body paint came off....but got all the rattle can crap off...krud cutter may work too....never used it personally...just have some buddies that swear by it.

I'm so glad it's still here, my son's car got hot roasted marshmallow dabs on his car because he told a young girl with 2 they needed to stop popping balloons at a gender reveal party, these 2 brats belong to my son's best friends gf, they've only been dating a month,, the gf is 22 with baby #3 otw, the kids we acting like hellions screaming throwing things and my son said someone needs to do something about these kids, next thing there's roasted marshmallow all over his car, good thing he's an adult or this mama bear would have fixed the issue last night. So don't take down post who cares if it's been up for 29 years it's the only post with an answer to our. Question

I never realized how much trouble a sticky marshmallow could cause.
