Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but I was getting ready to order the OEM part, and found what looks to be a better aftermarket version for less. Aluminum instead of OEM plastic. Looks like it even comes with a nifty clamp holding tool for easy install.
For those that don't know, this is one of the hose/adapter assemblies coming from the heater core connection on the passenger side, engine bay firewall. If you have an older X, this is one of those plastic coolant parts that gets brittle and should be replaced for a peace of mind.

Ordered this instead:
Dorman 626-610. Paid $17 on Ebay, no tax & free shipping.

Update : NICE SOLID PART, should last the life of the X

Nice!

Please report back and let us know if it’s a good part. I’ll buy one ASAP if it is!

Will update with pics as soon as I get the part and install it.

Also just found this thread where several already had to replace.

Yeah man save yourself the surprise I went through haha. I stopped at a red light on a paved road and steam started coming out everywhere I thought the thing had caught on fire at first.

When I pulled over and took a look at it the inlet part had sheared off on both ends. The new one is designed a little differently without the nipple part. Here's a pic:

Do the heater hoses. The plastic gets brittle and breaks.

I replaced the heater hose assembles for preventative maintenance.

Nice find! Agree 100% that every older X owner should replace this part, if it breaks while driving like it did on me you'll lose enough coolant to cause overheating even if you do get the hose reattached on the side of the road. I got lucky and happened to have a few gallons of distilled water in the back at the time.
