Hello everyone, the other night I started to rip apart my suspension to make room for some replacement parts, and I've hit a bit of a snag. I'm anticipating that I'll need to use some persuasion (pneumatics and the heat of the sun) to free a frozen LCA ball joint pinch bolt. I might not need to replace it, but I've already started to round the bolt off, so I want to make sure I have options. The dealership can have one in tomorrow, but I need to ideally drive home in my X tonight to get an alignment tomorrow (driving 200 miles Thursday night).
I'll preface in saying, I know that the OEM bolts are the way to go, but I need something in a pinch. Would it be possible to go somewhere like Menard's or Ace and get a substitute? I also might have something in the lab I work at, but I'll probably buy something if I don't find anything there. Anyone know/where to find the "specs" of the bolt? (40040A in the attached diagram).
Thanks!
