Yup looks perfectly normal to me....that's how they look when they are over extended.

 

"OverExtended"? Might this have compromised the integrity of the airbags or inner piston on any way?

 

Nope not usually. When the weight comes back down they fold over on themselves again in normal fashion. They will do that if you over air them also. There are no inner pistons

 

You need to see what they look like when the sitting on it's own with the wheels on. Make sure they line up. I do remember during installation, they can be easily installed backwards only making them slightly mis-aligned.

 

FWIW ditch the bags and get new leafs. I use to have these exact same bags and they worked but I found myself constantly adjusting them and not being happy when they did not have enough air in them. Pick up new leaf springs (OME) and be done with it. Ever since i put OME leafs on it's never crossed my mind as to if I had enough air in my suspension.

 

I'm looking to replace my leafs and am looking at the OMEs. Did they add any lift to your vehicle? I don't want to lift my X, just want it to stop bottoming out.

 

Look good to me. If I remember, you are supposed to let the air out prior to letting the axle hang like that when jacking. Air bags are the way to go, No matter what your load you can adjust for it and will never bottom out again.

 

No measurable lift at 20 psi and did stop bottoming out for me...
