Xterra / Frontier Silicone Hose Kits available Again...

Www.OffroadGorilla.com introduced a complete silicone hose kit for both Xterra's & Frontier's a few years ago. The kits were discontinued because of supply-chain issues (like many other companies) due to Covid-19. I received a response TODAY from them, that they are going to have the kits available soon again, hopefully by mid-December 2021. Check their web page for the availability announcement.
I'm hoping to be one of the first to get the kit because I just bought the CSF 3-core heavy-duty All-aluminum radiator from Nissan Motorsports ($300) which is being installed as we speak

That CSF radiator stopped being sold by OG due to some failures of the welds, just a head's up.

I just bought one from Fontana Nissan, took over 2 months for it to be made. If it leaks, like ANY radiator, I'll fix it. Still need the benefits of a 3-row heavy duty, extra-capacity radiator. Finishing the install now. I'll keep this thread updated.

I have the hose kit, yet to be installed because I am waiting till I do my next coolant flush this spring.

Old thread I know, but did anyone ever end up installing the hoses? If so, how happy are you with them?

I haven't used them, personally, but I recall someone got them and he didn't care for them. He said they he thought they were too soft and seemed to squish under the hose clamps. That said, unless you want a color other than black, I would stick with the factory hoses. I've had Nissan radiator hoses for 200,000+ miles and they never blew out or failed. If I did have one that needed to be replaced, I would get a Gates replacement for it.

Thanks, appreciate the input. I just replaced a power steering return line that had a small leak with a new OEM rubber one. It got me thinking about all the other hoses in my '09 that are original. I have 56,000 miles on the X so they may be fine since it spends a fair amount of time garaged

I have 3 sets of the silicon hoses, yellow , blue and black.
they work fine for me.

I have had mine installed for 9 months or so. March of 22' sometime.

I love the look, they work great.
My only complaint is the coolant smell you get after long trips.
Make sure you stay on top of checking your coolant percentage too.
Silicone hoses permeate easier than rubber, I think that is the right word.
It takes a long time, just wanted to make sure you knew.

I installed them a couple f years ago and almost immediately had the coolant smell after most trips, long or short. Sold them. I bought new OEM hoses per a thread on here and haven’t had any problems. YMMV.

I am about to the same point. Because my mind keeps thinking "head gaskets are leaking now!" I do not want that thought entering my head every time I get out.

I love the looks, but peace of mind is starting to win out. 😁

Happy with them. Do not use them for the power steering lines/automatic transmission fluid though... The more permeable than OEM hoses WILL sweat.

Use high quality hose clamps like Ideal Tridon stainless steel lined clamps.

I had no idea that silicone hoses would 'permeate'.
I wouldn't care for them on the truck, other than the ease of buying a full 'kit' rather than piecing each hose. BUT, i did kind of want them on a motorcycle... definitely not if its gonna smell or leak even the SLIGHTEST.

I agree the kits that have all the hoses are attractive rather than having to have to source each individual one.
