Round Rock, just north of the People's Republic of Austin. I do real estate appraisals, so I drive all over Central Texas from Fort Hood/Killeen down through San Antonio, from Bryan/College Station through Lampasas. :geek:

I don't have Xterra, but i live near Houston and willing to go wheeling. I went last time with Sexterra.

I will post my off-roading event in the future on this forum.

I only go wheeling on the job when doing a ranch, land or new construction appraisal. I go a couple times a year about 80 miles south of San Antonio, between Tilden and Freer on a private ranch for hunting, hiking, arrowhead hunting and the like. I will be going again in a couple weeks. I have only had the Xterra there twice. The soil there is a sandy clay. When it gets wet, it is slicker than snot on a door knob. I got stuck once with an 86 Bronco. The stock X has handled the terrain well so far.

Crazy, dude....for a while after school, my first job was in Laredo working for an oilfield services firm, and I used to drive all over the place down there, in places near Freer (and sometimes further south), through ranches and stuff to get to wells. I used to have fun driving on the dirt roads in the company F350.

The job really sucked and I hated Laredo, so I left...but man, that's weird to hear someone mention Freer, haha...

You know you are familiar with Texas if you know where Freer is located. This place is 800 acres of rolling hill, mesquite, cactus and things that want to sting, bite or eat you. I have seen badger, mountain lions, javelina, hogs, BIG rattlesnakes and all sorts of other critters.

I come back from there with sandy dust in everything.

I'll take some pics on my next run.

I've been lurking around here a while and hardly ever post because I have neither the time for 4x4 excursions nor the money for mods right now which is really sad...

But on to the point and to answer your question, I'm in Arlington and originally from Weatherford.
