Great question and what in Hell's Revenge did you do on Hell's Revenge?!

I got a little bit too happy with the skinny pedal on an optional line and with my open diffs it allowed the front drivers wheel to gain too much speed in the air, when it came back down to earth all the momentum stopped and it snapped the rear u joint for the front driveshaft and the driveshaft itself. after my motor stalled I backed down the hill I was on and someone hopped under the truck to tell me the drive shaft wasn't hitting anything. I went to move the rig backwards onto hard ground and the flange on the driveshaft got caught in between the flange on the transfer case and the transmission. little bit of gas and POP went the corner of the trans leaking my fluid onto the trail. Came back home, replaced the transmission the following weekend with a buddy and was back out to try hells revenge again (with less damage) the following week. Ill see if I can dig up a few photos.Great question and what in Hell's Revenge did you do on Hell's Revenge?!

Thanks for the link! I had searced for something like "spare parts to carry" and didn't see anything come up, guess I should've tried a little harder.![]()
Spare Parts List for the X
There are a ton of lists out there for spare parts/fluids one should carry when wheeling/overlanding (including a sticky in this forum) -- but this post on @jsexton's build page has me thinking we could tailor one to the X specifically. I've seen first hand this happen to my wife's Altima --...www.thenewx.org
Thanks! I guess I should've tried a little harder with my search before starting another thread. This thread has useful info:

Sometimes learning is expensive ain't it?! The real question is, did ya have some fun?I got a little bit too happy with the skinny pedal on an optional line and with my open diffs it allowed the front drivers wheel to gain too much speed in the air, when it came back down to earth all the momentum stopped and it snapped the rear u joint for the front driveshaft and the driveshaft itself. after my motor stalled I backed down the hill I was on and someone hopped under the truck to tell me the drive shaft wasn't hitting anything. This is such a helpful list - I'd now need to stock up on these car parts.I just bring the stuff that I know can take the truck down 100% and be replaced semi-easily on the trail. I feel like I can get by with a broken CV, u-joint, etc. so I don't bring those. Plus they are heavy and at some point you run out of space. I like everything to fit in that compartment underneath the trunk floor.
- Crankshaft pos sensor, both camshaft pos sensors. spare ignition coil (they all fit in a small box)
- Jumper Cables
- Code reader (can't fix what you don't know)
- Fusible link that comes right off the pos terminal of the battery. I saw that fail on a frontier last year
- Few small lengths of wire and crimp connector
learning was expensive this time but the trip was great! and I couldn't agree more, i think my SES light gets more use than my headlights.Sometimes learning is expensive ain't it?! The real question is, did ya have some fun?
Wish I had run across these threads (or taken the time to ask the question) a long time ago. We've been chasing an intermittent failure to start gremlin for over a year. Finally took it to a 3rd dealership, 5th mechanic overall and they diagnosed the cam position sensor. I'm not even gonna tell y'all what I've spent chasing this particular gremlin, but let's just say it's a skosh more than the $33 that sensor would have cost had I asked the folks that actually know these machines!

Thanks this is a great list, I'll have to get some parts together and make sure I have the proper tools and know how to replace them.I just bring the stuff that I know can take the truck down 100% and be replaced semi-easily on the trail. great! if I could go back and edit my original post (hint hint TNX) then I would add these to my list and make it public.Silicon hose repair tape / patch. It really does work - will hold together any rad / heater / transmission cooler hose long enough to get home - and i under 10 bucks.
I also carry fuses, relays (pulled from a wrecking yard) tire plug kit, bailing wire, and fast setting epoxy.
I don't think there are any restrictions on editing your own post? Click the 3 little dots in your original post and hit edit - doesn't work for you?great! if I could go back and edit my original post (hint hint TNX) then I would add these to my list and make it public.
aha! I thought it would be next to save and share in the bottom left. thanks!I don't think there are any restrictions on editing your own post? Click the 3 little dots in your original post and hit edit - doesn't work for you?
I saw that on one of the lists linked in this thread. Was this only for first gens? I can't find anything related to a "fuel pump relay" for my second gen '15 PRO-4X. I did find a 15A fuse for the fuel pump. Did they switch to using a fuse instead of a relay?IPDM Fuel Pump Relay (aka Control Unit - IP) P/N 284B7-CW29E $4.50
