Quick update - I installed a used rear axle assembly on my 2006 OR, after my diff blew.
Install went well and fluids were drained and replaced with 75W-140.
No noticeable shavings or oddities on drain plug and fluid looked good

- 2006 OR - Manual Tranny
- A quick scrapping sound happens under load at 25mph. Very quick.
- Happens for less than a second and doesn't happen again until I stop and accelerate again.
- Everything else seems to be fine, with no odd vibrations or sounds.

WHAT THE HECK IS IT???

I think I can live with it, but I want to know if it is something I should worry about.

Thanks, in advance

You might PM Cyclemut. He's one of the best here when it comes to drivetrain questions, especially diffs.

Its hard to tell from the video but it almost sounds like a heat shield on the exhaust is starting to get loose. Check to see if any of your bands are loose/broken.
That's exactly what I thought too, but I climbed under there again and everything is solid. Plus. It sounds as though it's coming from farther back on the truck
