Made progress installing the Expedition One bumper today.
Need new hardware for the skid plates (not included apparently)
Anyone know off-hand the size of the threads on the skid plate mounts?

Fog lights will be installed after my work trip.
Winch will come when I have the funds.

Snorkel came in the mail today too! Excited for that!

i just reused the old hardware and its working fine :X

My wife helped me install the Curt class 3 hitch today, was fairly easy, just time consuming. Was thankful for PB Blaster and cleaning the dirt off of the spare tire.

Well, my plunge into axle swapping is turning into more of a reality.

I've been doing a bunch of research for parts/requirements to swap a Titan m226 into my Xterra.

So, pending some email responses, I will be placing a few orders.

  • spring perches
  • offset shock mounts
  • u-bolt eliminator kit (alternative to u-bolt flip, will see if it's even possible)
  • 6 bolt axle flange to mate to driveshaft
  • 2012 M226 w/ locker
  • braided steel rear brake lines
  • TMR D44 basic truss kit
  • front m205 CV axles
  • new hardware for front diff, leaf springs, etc
I'm sure there's a couple things missing, but it's a good starting point. I'll be updating my build thread with my 'order list to keep track.

Didn’t think the X could ride on 3 wheels (for long duration). Short spurts most definitely

I'm planning on putting a lot of weight in the three corners...lol

It'll be a while till I get a rear tire carrier so I'll use my spare and when I get the TC I'll grab a 5th wheel

Finally ordered a Raingler cargo net. 4-6 weeks to make and deliver. Custom & quality takes time. Picked up a pair of those fancy 8gal. Rubbermaid totes on a trip to the Oregon coast for about $20 less than Amazon. Also bought a Lifetime 50ish qt. cooler at Walmart. Yeti level quality at Coleman level pricing. Nearly pulled the trigger on an electric cooler but with the cost and mods to make it work I could have bought the cooler and 10 years worth of ice. Not to mention, I can use it yesterday instead of having to wait.

-Pair of LCAs and Diablo blades because I didn't install the cam bolts when I did my lift kit (seized)
-New radiator to prevent SMOD.
-3 gallons of Zerex long life Asian coolant.
-10 litres of Max life ATF,
-Engine oil and Napa Gold filter.
-Pair of 8 gal action packer.

Next: Front diff and transfer case fluid, PCV valve, breather mod.

ha and yes, I was wondering if anyone would notice that...
I plan to get some real ones but.. you know how long the list of things i want / need gets..
Check these out. Some Aussie guys did a good review/comparison on youtube (search X-Bull sand tracks or recovery boards) about them. $61 recovery boards.
I have no experience with these (I have Treks I got used), but I'd give them a shot if I was in the market.
