I'm wondering what GPS you all are using in your X. I did a search and there's some information in the forum, but nothing that addresses this topic directly. Perhaps this even becomes a sticky for others...

I'm considering either the Garmin StreetPilot 7200/7500 or the StreetPilot 2820. I'm leaning toward the 7500 due it it's features and large display but am unsure if the until will be too big for the tray area above the RF Radio. Anyone else have a 7500 in use?

Signed,

Lost without a direction.

I have a Dell Axim X51v along side a Serf3 Blue Tooth receiver (Can't remember the brand - $80 on Ebay). With MS Steets & Trips.

Works well - but not so well for off road stuff.

Wife is in a competition to win a Laptop at work, the drawing is on Monday. As she already has one, the new one will be mine if she wins - Fingers crossed! :) After which I will be purchasing a Blue Tooth Dongle and hooking it to the Laptop and probably going with Delorme the same as Musikman. Only reason I didn't go with Delrome for the PDA was it didn't work with Windows Media 5 at the time - Not sure if it does now or not!

Wait a minute, in my house..... If she wins she wins, and her old one would be mine if she ever got all her stuff out of it.

I use a Garmin GPS 60 CS, Considering when you get really lost you m ay break down, At least with a hand held I can mark my spot, use it to get out and get back with the stuff I need to fix it. Bolting one to the dash was off my list of things to do.

If any one does go with the dash mounted units learn from PonyBoy's experience: Thieves like to smash and grab those suckers. So remove at night or keep out of view...

The Delorme Atlas and Gazetteer fro SoCal topo maps and a Garmin iQue 3600. The iQue is pulled from my old SUV which had a dash mount a bunch closer than the Xterra's ... that screen is too hard to read now so I'm debating on a new one with bigger print. The iQue is a Palm PDA with a built-in GPS. Great for taking on business trips in strange cities as it fits in the rental car and in the pocket too.

I'm looking at Garmin StreetPilot c530 (I don't do Bluetooth/cellphone calls while driving) or the Nuvi 350 which is just darn sexy!

I have the Garmin eMap. I really like how Garmin offered free upgrades to their software via the web. The eMap is an older model and they have stopped upgrading it, but there were many upgrades and they added new features to it before the end.

I would go with Garmin again, infact waiting for the "next gen" of the Garmin line before I buy another.
