What should I wax with? I have an 07 Super Black - which looks sweet when clean (or extremely muddy) but is in severe need of wax. I washed it today and it's still streaky as hell....

Any tips? Anything worked for anyone (especially with black)?

I like the new Turtle wax ICE Paste product. Not the liquid, that stuff is junk. There are lots of good waxes out there though...and everyone will have their favorite. I just like this one because you can apply it in the sun on a hot surface with out having to worry about it and it seems to last a while. I also use it on my headlights. One to try and keep them clear and not yellowy but also just clean in general.

Zaino!!!!!! Got this from my girlfriend for my Super Black X. I've never been more satisfied with a wax product. It's more expensive but well worth it. One wax lasts for 6 months. It shines like nothing I've ever used before.

on all of my vehicles, and my friends and families, i use a 3 step process. its a meguires cleanser and polish, then followed up with meguires wax. i bought it all in industrial bulk. i have gallons of the stuff. also, i use an random speed orbital buffer. it really gives you that edge. my process on the X takes me about 4-5 hours including a quick wash. but i really take my time and pay attention the the details.
here's kinda some pics of some buffer action. its a beautiful thing.

Zaino is awesome stuff but expensive! I went with Duragloss after reading several reviews on car forums saying that people really couldn't tell the difference and for the price some of them even switched to Duragloss. I can tell you from personal experience both go on and come off easy and leave a very nice durable shine.

I have used Meguires 3 step for many year and it is great. It removes all the junk from your paint and removes the swirls and natures pin striping from black really well.

I am also a huge fan of the Meguiars 3 step "deep crystal" process.

Step 1: http://www.meguiars.com/?auto-paint-cleaners/Deep-Crystal-System-Paint-Cleaner

Step 2: http://www.meguiars.com/?car-polishes/Deep-Crystal-System-Polish

Step 3: http://www.meguiars.com/?liquid-car-waxes/Deep-Crystal-System-Carnauba-Wax
Though I do not use a random speed orbital buffer, it is only because I have not found the time to get one yet, they are definitely the way to go as earlier mentioned. I also believe that using a clay bar every now and then makes a HUGE difference.

You may want to give this clay bar a try if you do the three step process: http://www.meguiars.com/?auto-detailing-clay/Smooth-Surface-Clay-Kit
Im not sure if the kit includes lubricant but if not you can use this stuff: http://www.meguiars.com/?car-maintenance/Quik-Detailer

+1

I have been using Zaino since the X was a week old. I have no paint chips and almost no scratches. They are building a parking garage across the street from my office and when they were paining it the wind blew paint on everyone's car at my office. The construction company sent a car detailer to get the paint off. The detailer was amazed that with just washing all the paint came off (the over spray); he had to clay bar all the other cars. It had been two months since i last waxed the car and he was dumbfounded. I mainly got Zaino for the ease of application, the fact that it looks as good as it does is a bonus. The little extra cost is worth it to me and will continue to use it. Water beads and falls of for months between waxing, I am around 4-5 months between waxing (last time was in the beginning of Nov.), I could go longer, but it's just when i feel like doing it again. If I wash it this weekend/remember I'll take a picture.
