So I've been lurking here for a long time now. I've done small things like replacing my head unit with a navi unit and replacing my headlight housing with projectors but I felt what I had done wasn't worthy of a build thread. Early this year I got bit HARD by the mod bug. It started with just needing new shocks which led me to replacing my entire suspension. I couldn't stop there and now I just finished getting on my ARB bumper and getting 33" Duratracs. Since I've done so much lately I finally decided to start my own build thread instead of just looking at everyone else's builds.

Special thanks to T-REXterra for helping with the more difficult mods that I've done in the past few months.

ARB is so hot, wish you didn't have to cut the bumper. Like the Honda upgrade.
It sucked having to cut the bumper but I've had the X for so long now that I knew that there wouldn't be any going back to the stock bumper so I didn't hesitate at all at cutting it.

After seeing many different directions others here have gone for adding side visibility to signaling your intention I decided on the Honda Pilot side marker being the most OEM looking so that's the route I went. I went with the smoked color just like 1NonlyX and used a really strong amber LED from v-leds.com.

There is no way around cutting the bumper is there? Can't take bumper off and mount ARB? Has to leave a gap.
No way around it. If you leave the lower part of the bumper off there will be a gap of over an inch between the headlights and the bumper and there wouldn't be any support for the grill.

Nice job and I agree, that bumper looks nice. Also like what you did with the side markers. Not sure I had seen that - or missed it if others had.
In looking up side marker options I came across 1NonlyX's build thread and saw that he had done it so I went his route and it came out really nice.

Current thinking... switches!

Right now I have the CCFL Halos tapped into the front marker lights so they only turn on with the park lights. I was thinking about hitting the fuse box in the engine bay and finding a switched fuse to tap so that they would always be on whenever the engine is running. My brother, who is an auto mechanic but unfortunately lives far away so he can't really help me out much, suggested that I'll want the CCFLs on a switch in case there are any problems with them.

So I started thinking about switches. I need some switches anyway since I have a bunch of lights I ordered from the recent GB that should be in soon enough that I'll need to wire up. I've never really been much for doing electrical work so this will be a first for me... nothing like trial by fire... ok hopefully there is NO fire involved!!!

First I need a blue sea fuse block or something similar and then some relays! I'm thinking I'll tap the ACC for the CCFLs but for the roof lights, which will all be LEDs, I want to be able to use those even if the engine isn't running for camping lights. OTRATTW switches look to be the way I want to go. I'm thinking 3 switches... 1 off/on for the halos, 1 off/on/on for the front roof lights controlling just the inner 2 lights and then all 4 lights, and 1 off/on for the 2 rear roof lights.

Lastly, I need to figure out where I want the switches... My X already has 2 OEM switches in the center console... locker and VDC. Over by the mirror control I have 1 OEM switch... clutch start. I really don't want to split apart the new switches and I'd love to have each group of switches look the same. I'm thinking move the clutch start switch to the center console. That'll leave me a black spot in the center console... for a future front locker maybe??? I'll have to cut out an extra spot by the mirror control for the 3 light switches.

OR... I could look into getting new OTRATTW switches to replace the OEM switches so they all have the same look and I won't need to bother relocating them or do any cutting... place the switch for the halos next to the clutch start and the switches for the roof lights can go in the center console.

Decisions, decisions!!!
