Myself and a couple of friends are going to be camping and wheeling up at Badin Lake in Uwharrie National Forest the weekend of April 24th/25th, so I figured I would make a post and see if anyone nearby might like to meet up and ride some trails with us? I've never been to Uwharrie and I'm still in the beginning of planning this trip. I don't know which trails we're going to try yet.

My X is stock height, no real mods to speak of other than I added a receiver hitch to have a rear recovery point, I got a receiver mounted shackle for the hitch. I took off the splash guards and step rails. I have a couple of 20ft straps, shackles (metal and soft 2 of each), going to be getting a kinetic rope. For Comms I have a CB, and I also have a couple of FRS/GMRS radios.

That'll be the weekend before a big cross country move in my X so a trial run with all the gear might be good for me. I haven't done any wheeling out there and I'd be hesitant to push anything so close to a big trip but I definitely know of a few good spots to camp near the river. I've got a CB and some fengs as well

Cool, I guess that's a maybe then? I have to drive mine close to 4hrs home, so I don't plan to get into anything that crazy. We're going to be camping at the Badin Lake Campground.

To not be irrelevant, but I move to America in June and will be settled in NC. I would be very interested in finding some people to wheel my Xterra with.

Well you never know, I could be back in NC wheeling again later in the year. I live in SC so it's not all that far for me to travel up to NC. Also, the area we're going camping at next month - Uwharrie National Forest - is a popular destination for off-roading, so there will always be people out there wheeling.

Yeah man just touch base as it gets closer and I should be able to meet you guys out there. I've never stayed at the campgrounds but I doubt they'll be very crowded
