Utah X

Hello from Las Vegas and Utah. Had my X for a few months now. Been off-roading for a few years now as a hobby. Sold my last off road vehicle 2 weeks before purchasing the X. Only mods so far is the intake. Hope to build this one to be different as I cannot keep a vehicle stock for long.

2006 Xterra S 4x4
Silverstar Ultra headlights
aftermarket fog lights
KN intake. AirRaid TB spacer. (this combo makes a lot of noise)
removed mud guards/flaps. looks cleaner
factory bug deflector (need it here in Utah)
besides this it is completely stock and hopefully that won't be for long.

plans are to lift 2-3". and change the tires. the Long Trail tires that come on the S package suck. What type of tires are people running? Size? Must fit on factory wheels... dont want to spend money on those yet. I want to go wider, at maximum out to the edge of the fender so I dont have to put the mud flaps back on. No mudders because they dont work well in snow.

Welcome!
welcome. Utah is my favorite state to visit for a long weekend of skiing!
Welcome to the forum.

Funny you should mention the mudflaps...I took mine off (well after I broke one off wheeling...which the co-owner of the vehicle was not too happy about...but if your wife is always happy, yer not having fun eh?) and it looks so much better. Then I noticed that Nissan doesn't have the flaps on for any of their promo pics on the website or otherwise. Obviously Nissan figures it looks cleaner/better as well.

Cheers,
Welcome!!!

Maybe I will see you at MOAB.

I broke one wheeling too... ripped it right off. And I never noticed about Nissan never having them on in any of the promo pics... go figure.

Hopefully I can make it to MOAB before the summer. There is a guy in the local area here that has a 06 OR X thats lifted and has the Shrockworks front bumper and other goodies. Looks really nice. He bought his the same day as me and already has it modded... he has been to MOAB a few times already and can still keep up with the other vehicles there.
Welcome there Ogden boy!

I hope to be spending some time in Ogden as soon as my brother relocates there this spring!
welcome! located in Utah as well. there are a few of us Utahn's here on TNX.
Welcome.

As for your tire question, I recently ditched the stock Long Trails for BFG AT K/O and am quite impressed. I went with the size that is stock on the OR (can't remember the size right now), they work great.
Stock OR: 265/75-16

PS Almost forgot to answer your tire Q; I have 285x75 Goodyear Silent Armor Wranglers on mine. I used the older version Wranglers on a previous 4 wheeler and was quite satisfied. The Silent Armor is Kevlar belts and extra heavy side walls for durability,,,,,,,,,,,and they're quiet !
