OMG that looks sick. I love it. Why do you need flares to be street legal? Or did I miss a joke there?

Awesome, dude!

some states require that the entire tire be covered by the fender, in this case since he used 1.5" spacers he needs to cover the additional 1.5" of tire that sticks out past the fender

that looks so sick. If i offroad like 1% of my time driving the vehicle, and its not even that hard of stuff or anything, would it do enough harm that might really hurt something, making me wait for newer wheels and stuff? or should i just go ahead with this route?

Oregon that looks awesome!!! A cop would have to really be lookin for something to give you a ticket for that though!

can you confirm the spacer thickness you used; i thought in the original post you stated 1"... is this correct.

you should repost the original info (cutting off acorns, grinding studs, etc.) for others that might want to go this route.

That is correct. I used a 1 inch adapter, not a 1.5. I think that when all was said and done (adapters, wider weels, backspacing differences, etc) I pushed my tires out about 1.5-1.75 inches on each side. I don't think that it looks as bad from the front because the corners of the shrock front bumper protrude out past the fender as well. Here's a shot that might give you a better idea;

Just a warning, be prepared to do A LOT OF GRINDING if you choose to go this route.

Looks great! Especially on your rig.

Your X has been chosen for the 2008 TheNewX.org calendar. Please submit photos of your rig in high resolution with some hot chick in a thong standing in front of it to:
MC

Nice set up! Bad ass color choices.

Is there an 07 calendar?

Please MC no photos of you in a thong.
LOL the 07 calender is an Idea I came up with but they are really expensive to do. Color starts out like 5K for less than 500.

I said Hot chick in a thong to MC.
I look best in loose fitting scuba suit. ha haa.
Although the nutrisystem been working good for them road trips.

No you can do a calendar for ~$25 with no order limit. The nexterra group just did an 07 calendar. It came out great, except there are very few 05's.

OregonX, how much did you end up spending on this project. Rims+spacers?

One more thing. When I was out wheelin' this last weekend in the sand, my drivers side front tire came up and rubbed the bottom of the fender. Put a little dent in the fender lip and rubbed off some paint. I thought the AC coils would be stiff enought to prevent that much compression, but it looks like I was wrong (sure it won't be the last time).

I picked up some of the Energy Suspension universal polyurethane bumpstops from Autozone that I'll put on this weekend. Should solve my problem.

Wheels look great on there. I'm going to switch to some aluminum wheels as soon as I can because the steelies are great off road but suck on the autobahn(or mostly street driving).
