Titan Swap Coilovers - 2023

So there appears to be a flood of new product in to the Titan Swap Coilover Market. Thought I'd throw up a post listing them rather than them being buried in random posts.

Radflo
--Available about everywhere it seems. Lots of history on the product.
--Come in 2", 2 1/2", and 2 1/2" with Reservoir designs.
--Available with a range of springs.
--Suppliers would include Z1 Offroad, ADO, Nisstec, CJD Racing, and others I'm sure

Nisstec MKII
Nisstec MKII
--Good initial reports on ride quality. At time of me typing this they've been on market for less than a year.
--Issues are the company itself has floundered under poor customer service, long lead times due to Covid, generally some customers feel lied to...but have never heard of I never got my MKII's...just that it took forever.
--Travel is limited to around 8"(8.3 if I recall) and this was not stated in original offering.

CJD Racing
CJD Coilovers
--No one has used them yet as far as I'm aware. Just released them 5/2023 when I created this post.
--Won't tell the actual travel of them but say 'its designed by US to use ALL of the available suspension travel'.(after Nisstec flub it seems all suppliers are snarky about their suspension travel...or snarky in general)
--Only offered in Remote reservoir(CJD appears to cater to the high end of what works)

Carbon Shocks
Carbon Shocks Titan Swap Coilovers
--Seems I've heard they have a good reputation
--Claim 5" of shock travel(around 9.5 at wheel)
--Appears they will tune them to your usage

ADO Fox Offering
--ADO Fox Extended Travel<--This is what's available today
--According to this post, they're coming out with true TS option...
----Fox Titan Swap Option
--Reports I saw ere 9.3" of wheel travel likely for full TS option...but maybe not.
--Have to remove coilover to adjust preload/lift due to Fox design

Z1 offroad
--Dobinson's Extended Travel
--No known travel numbers yet
--Z1 has released an extended travel they're saying can be used on Titan Swap according to others. I believe the plan is to use a spacer to make up the length difference. Unsure how this works in full but knowing Z1 all it would take is a phone call to get the full scoop

Tundra Struts DIY Coilover
TheNewX Tundra Coilover for Titan Swap
--This has its own whole post...and is what I'm currently running. Have on my list of 'to dos' is a summary of that 60+ page post and the info collected there
--Gyst of this is using a Later 90s to early 2000s Tundra Strut and finding the proper spring to give you the lift you want. The linked thread has over 60 pages full of good info and cross links to other info on Spring selection, Top Hats, and other sites with info.
--Other Cliff Notes
-----There are like 3 good aftermarket choices here. Bilstein, Eibach, and ProComp(but unsure if its the right size anymore).
-----Springs can be Moog for limited travel(7" or so) to use with factory Top Hats. OEM Toyota Springs gain 10" of travel when paired with custom Top Hat.
-----Can add grooves to Bilsteins or any of them to adjust ride height.

Bilstein 6112 Coiilover
Bilstein 6112 Option
-Much like the Tundra Struts, this is a higher end Bilstein 2 1/2" strut that you have to pair with a custom top hat to get full usage out of.
-CJD recommends these as their thought for budget top hat option. Almost as good as a true coilover...top end design of the strut is only lmiting factor I was told.
-I have seen these on many different websites recently as Titan Swap alternatives. Link takes you to CJD. OTher sites I've found them on by searching p/n have given me more info on them...
-I think I found travel numbers and that these come with 650 lb springs...which is what is needed for a very heavy Xterra....would probably have to switch down to lighter spring for factory front or add snapring grooves. I will try to find the other info and include it here. Its likely buried in the Tundra Coilover thread above toward end

Sway Away Coilovers
Sway-Away Link
-Don't know much about them but know they've been out a long time. Just lesser known. My recollection is they sold out many years ago to a bigger name company and had kind of fallen out of mainstream Titan Swap work
-Have to source springs, which should be whatever rate/lenth eibach's you need. Follow sites recommendations for Radflo or others and I figure you'd be OK.
-Top Hats may be the problem. YOu need a special Coilover to Nissan conversion tophat. PRG Tophats<--note I only go here because I know they have them...not because I'd want to take a chance they deliver the product. Not sure if anyone else sells them.

I'd say it needs to be updated with a concise chart of each options' extended length and stroke (when that information becomes available.

Reports of CJD having 5" of travel at the shock which translates to about 9.5" of wheel travel.
Z1 Offroad
Z1 came out with a Dobinsons extended travel coilover that can be used with a titanswap with a small spacer.

Alldogs Offroad
Similarly, Alldogs also came out with extended travel Fox 2.0 coilovers that can be used with a titanswap. It's worth noting that ADO has the spring options of 550, 600, and 650lbs for the springs on the Fox's. I believe the stock springs for the Fox 2.0s are rated at 400lbs or something in that range.

Thanks for the info. I've updated it some but have been distracted with work and life so I'll move the info up to get the OP updated with everything.
Stay away from CJD! Unless you have used them personally I would not recommend them. Mike is a con artist. Cjd=Prg. I have personal experience with CJD and I will never be using them again. I have been silent on this for too long. I respect and care for this community, or else I would have stayed quiet but I have seen far too many CJD recommendations lately.

Can you please start a separate post with a proper title and provide some detail of your experience with CJD? As others have done with PRG etc. Otherwise there's no substance to this, and very few will even find it buried in an off topic thread.

Here is an update for the table regarding the CJD coilovers, I pressed them multiple times to provide actual coilover dimensions and they refused to. here is their response. "These are the correct length to work with the CJD Racing Titan swap kit as this is the kit that the shock was designed around "

Edit: I was just told they will release numbers after the shocks themself are released and shipped to customers but not until then, so thats decent news.
Almost forgot about the 6112 option. Added that now plus some more updates
should Sway A-way coilover shocks be on this list? there are quite a few peple here who installed them on their Titan swaps my self included.
Had mine rebuilt 2 years ago.

I did not know they are still available....but if they are, then yes, the purpose is to show all the options(the list is quite impressive to me). Nisstec may have flubbed delivery but spurred competition to come to the market. Thank you NIssan for keeping front the same to carry the Titan Swap on to future Frontier Owners.

Is the 18" long one at the bottom of the table on that page what you'd buy? Looks like buy it, then add springs separately you'd need/want? And maybe have to create the top hat? Seems to me maybe PRG(gag) on their website offered Coilover adapters for our rigs?

🤔 makes me double think. 😂 jk
You forgot to include Icons.
They're having a sale right now

Sway Away products are now sold under the AFE Control Sway-A-Way name. There's a Titan coilover but not sure if there's a Titan swap specific application anymore.

Are those long enough for the Titan swap? I'd assume you'd also need Frontier/Xterra specific top hats?

ON the ICON ones. I had heard of them...but didnt know they were still available. I'll add them too. This list has gotten much larger than I thought.

Do we know the wheel travel on these ICONs? Also, can ICON put the right tophat on it befor ethey ship it or how does that work?

Yea, "Titan" shocks aren't going to be plug and play.
I wouldn't add these to the list until it's confirmed that they can be ordered plug and play for a Titan Swap (and we have some more specific specs).

Same concept as the Tundra Shocks (which are also not "plug and play"). Must use xterra / fronty top hat ( do not have to do spring compressor though) or these... IF you can get PRG to respond (when I got mine it took a couple weeks of calls but I finally was able to get them shipped). Or some other alternate product. Not sure if nistec would sell just a top hat. guess someone could call and ask. Could probably make titan top hat work if hole was drilled properly.

It's not quite the same concept though, because OE Xterra hats wont work with the ICON's, and I'd never suggest someone order something from PRG.

For all I know, ICON offers them with a compatible hat (which would be cool if the specs are good), but I can't find any evidence of that.
