So I needed to rotate my tires this weekend which gave me the perfect opportunity to test fit my Titan rims. I am currently running 265/75/r16 BFG ATKO's with 1.5" wheel spacers. I found 4 285/65/r18 BFG ATKO's on craigslist for $50. there isn't much tread on them so i might turn around and sell them again. i also have a 265/70/r18 highway tire on my 5th titan wheel that came w/ the rim. That is the size that comes factory on titans. It's gonna get tossed when I eventually buy new tires.

It requires 6x5.5" wheel adapters to run these wheels. my adapters are 1.25' thick.

on to the pics!

Factory S wheels on 265/75/r16's. 36" to the fender

this shows how far the wheels stick out w/ the 1.5" wheel spacers and 265's

Factory Titan wheels on 285/65/r18's. 37" to the fender

Factory Titan wheels on 285/65/r18's. I jacked the body up 2" to simulate how it will look once I get my body lift installed. 39" to the fender

the front on 285's

this shows how far the wheels stick out w/ the 1.25" wheel adapters and 285's

comparison pic to show both

moar pics:

now these show the 265/70/r18's on the front and 285/65/r18's on the back. There really isn't that much of a size difference between the two. The biggest difference is due to the tread. the 265's are a highway tire and look tiny.

all in all, i really can't decide which size to go with. the 265's are WAY cheaper, but the 285's look better. Either way, the front liner will need some adjustment requiring more than the melt mod.

They look sweet! You plan on stealthing them? I just found a set of 18" titan steel wheels for $100 on craigslist.

yeah, the higher price for less rubber makes little sense to me.

Thats going to be a nice set up! Sooo, did you have to re-mortgage the house to get the tires, lol... I almost pulled the trigger on a set of nearly new procomp titan 18's on CL. Once I started pricing tires I said "eff that". I ended up w/ pro comp extreme alloy 17x9's w/ Procomp xtreme AT's for $800. couldn't beat it.

I knew those wheels wouldn't stay stock for long :D

I got the wheels from DTD for $1225 before all the rebates. it also includes 2 tire certificates in that price.

$1225
-$100 DTD gift card
-$60 Goodyear gift card
-$30 Car Care one gift card
-$75 Tread lightly rebate ($100 - $25 membership fee)

for a total of $960
not terrible for duratracks

nope. although i'd like to. it'd take a TON of work to run the titan wheels w/o adapters
