I've had a set for a little over 2 years sitting in my roof basket. haven't had to use them yet ( for myself or anybody else) kind of curious to find out what other people that have used that got to say

I'd be interested to hear some first-hand accounts of how those ones work for anyone that's actually tried them ... doesn't look to me like they actually have much for tires to grip.

MaxTrax are on my 'wants' list ... they seem to be the go-to for the ExPo set (for whatever that's worth - maybe not much). They're available online through Sierra Expeditions, among others.

Here's a great article on a few other options (originally developed for publication in Overland Journal): http://expeditionportal.com/guide/843-overland-journal-sand-ladder-test.html
