got the stock 16s on there now...debating between 18, 19, or 20 in rims....

anyone have them on their X? pics? How's the ride quality? Any sacrifices? I'm looking for a black finish...that would go well with the Yellow X I have....any good sites?

thanks!!! :geek:

Well I dont know how 20's would look on the X, but if you are going to go bigger, why not go with 22's or even 24's

Well if you are doing the supercharger, yea, But if you ever go off road the lack of sidewall is a liability. 18 is about as big as I would ever go. But 17's more like it. Plus tire price goe$ up as those numbers do. I just read an article in some magazine about Goodyear offering insane tire sizes for the yuppie Hummer crowd who really never go Off road and should have bought a Sedan. MC
And as an added benefit the mileage rating goes way way down - 10,000-15,000 street miles on some of those tires!
Juntao, in case you haven't already noticed, there's a majority of us who find off-road-worthy tire/wheel set-ups to be more appealing than show/street set-ups. So don't be surprised if you don't find overwhelming support for buying 20" rims. No one's putting it down, because "to each his own", and everyone has different taste. However, if you find that your question is not being answered like you wish it'd be, this might be the reason.

Also, I have seen a decent looking Xterra in San Diego with 25" rims and paper thin tires. It's not my bag but I can't say it looked too bad.

After the first 1000 scratches and the first dent, you stop caring.

No thats why we offroad.

Wait a minute, I am! I don't get too crazy out there. Four wheeling is the only sport where trees move towards you. How do they do that? MC

I think MC needs a dent. ;)
Then he could do a write up on how to get out a dent and everyone would be set :geek:

If you went offroading with that thing, you wouldnt be able to do any hillclimbs or rockcrawling with those on there unless you wanted them to end up being ripped off. they reduce departure angle!! Most guys on this forum prefer function to form!!
About dents and scratches.....

I don't get them on purpose, but I bought my vehicle to use. Plus, I look at my Xterra as a truck with a covered cargo area not an SUV.

As well, if I get a scratch or something offroad I don't get too upset about it, but if it happens in a parking lot I'd like to run over the person who helped get the scratch.

Dan
Centerline has some overstock 20's that might work. I would never go more than 18" on an Xterra, but to each his own.
i was thinking something like this: (bah, copy and paste link to address bar)
