Hello all! Recently I found someone who was parting out a 2008 Titan and sold me the complete front end for very cheap. I have the OEM Titan UCA, LCA, Coilovers, wheel hubs, brake assemblies (with brake lines), and the guy i bought the front end from cut the inner tie rods but the outers are still usable with a tie rod extension mounted to my xterra inners.

My question is about the OEM titan coilovers. To my understanding I can use the stock titan coilovers and it will still give me 2.5" lift and should work UNTIL I watched a video from alldogs offroad, which added to my confusion. In the video it was stated that I cannot use the stock titan coilovers.. is this true? My plan was to tswap my 2006 Xterra and upgrade the coilovers later to radflo or the bils 5100.

As for the axels, I was going to keep my R180 diff and get the infiniti QX56/QX80 (depending on year) CV axel (rock auto PN: NI8433). According to the research I have done, this axel will give me the correct extension using my R180 diff. I wasn't planning on swapping the wheel hub yet until I eventually find a M205 diff to drop in.

I am trying to make this go as smoothly as possible due to the fact my xterra is my every day driver and I would need to do this on a weekend while taking a day or 2 of PTO to finish the job. What I do not want is to disassemble my front end to find out that I cannot complete the job until I order parts.

There is really no point in using the OEM titan UCAs and coilovers. The whole point of Titan swap is to get a stronger front diff and suspension travel. If you are keeping your R180 and using stock Titan suspension parts, then you really don't gain any benefit. I would just wait until you can get real coilovers and an aftermarket Titan UCA and do it then.

Thanks for the quick reply. It was kinda my thinking that if i install all of the components for a tswap that doing individual upgrades later would be easier. I plan to purchase bils 5100 coilovers and the rough country UCA within the next few months. I am trying to figure out that if i install the OEM components, the measurements line up.

I guess I'm confused on how doing individual upgrades would be "easier". Feels like it would be easiest to have ALL the parts, and just do the install once, right? Especially because like I said, you aren't gaining really anything from having stock Titan suspension. The only exception to this is around the front diff. Regearing is expensive. You can definitely do suspension at one time and driveline another. But stock Titan suspension feels like a waste of install effort to me.

Also 2 things from your original post that I just noticed:

1. You don't need the titan wheel hubs. Xterra ones work fine
2. You would keep your Xterra brake calipers. IDK if the stock titan brake lines would work - I'm thinking they might not be long enough once you get an aftermarket coilover in there. The large majority of titan swappers just buy aftermarket stainless steel braided ones.

If you for some reason insist on installing what you can now, then you could add a 2.5" lift spacer to your Xterra coilovers and run that instead of the Titan coilovers temporarily. But again, really no benefit...

Yeah after reading your post and talking to nisstec I'm going to slow my roll and purchase the titan spc UCA and the titan radflo coilovers and do it right. They told me everything else I have will work fine. I'm going to try to bid on an auction titan for the diff and the CV. I was looking into buying new but for $2500.. the $500 wrecked titan seems like a fair option. Thanks for the info! I really appreciate the guidance.

Not maybe, they do. You will NOT fit titan springs into an Xterra. The spring pocket in the frame is smaller.
