Hey just wondering if everyone could keep an eye out for light bars for sale. My 20" alien LED light bar was stolen last night as well as a nearby neighbor (Auburn Bay) (40") who posted a ad on kijiji looking for his. In both cases the thief cut the wires short and broke the mounting tabs in half.
Mine also had 3 bulbs burnt out on the one end so it should be fairly easy to spot if someone mounts it and you see it on.
little as a light? im pretty sure that's a $600 alien led bar. Whoever stole it probably sold it for drugs (someone who wanted it for their truck probly wouldn't have broken the mounts)... sorry buddy i hope you filed a police report and can get some $ back but you'll probably never see it again
I'm tempted to go the area, just a few blocks away. And park my truck and wait close to see if someone trys to take my bar. Then politely ask them a few questions and let them go without harm...
Hey, hey, hey we were saying how we "wouldn't" bludgeon him but bear spray gives me an idea... we should spray him with a fire hose at night while we watch in the light of the stolen Alien bar! After all it's just water, we didn't want him to get dehydrated
Damn, I am about to mount 4 light bars on my rack. I'm going to try to kick around a few ideas about helping prevent this. Sorry about losing your lights man, damn...
That sucks. Hope you find the ahole who took it. I'll def keep my eyes open for it.
Maybe it's a good idea for people to engrave their screen name or something else on the heat sink so it can be clearly identified should it show up somewhere. I'm thinking I might do this to mine then touch up with some paint.
Someone was prowling cars in my neighbourhood on Saturday night (car alarms and police chopper were my 3AM clues). I'm a little old and slow to adopt Steady's hammer plan. But roused the dog and we went for a walk to check the perimeter. Dark of night is a great time to own a "problem" dog.
It's rare to see these scumbags get their due, but it does happen.
To the OP - Could you tell us a little more about where you normally park and how far away you were when this happened? Was it a public parking area? Your driveway? Apartment complex?
That sucks. I live in a good neighbourhood and still **** happens. As of late, locks on sheds are being cut but nothing has been taken (happened to 4 people in our neighbourhood 3 nights ago). We figure the f#ckers are taking inventory levels and plan a return trip at some point.
