Man I was kind of disappointed when I talked with them this morning. I called them up to ask if the 3.5L supercharger would work on the 4.0L and they said no. I asked them if they were going to come up with one and they said no. They are only going to support the 350Z and the Titan since they said that they were working on one for the 5.6L. They are not interested in doing one at all for the 4.0L. That sucks. Man we really need to tell them to make one because there is a lot of interest. If I could get one I would buy one for sure.

I've never thought the Xterra (05+) really needed more power. I've come from a tuner market where I had a 340whp car that weighed 3100lb. I can't think of a time where I wish I had more power.

I would like some more low end torque, which certain exhausts would help... but to get the hp that a supercharger gives and hurt MPG even more I just don't see it as an issue.
I want more power because the X is already kind of a sleeper but to really blow off the doors on something like a porsche Canyanne R or R turbo would be kick ass.
I just want to smoke stock 350z's and stuff. now THAT would be awesome. I had a 350z and I got rid of it cuz it was a money pit and still got handed it's ass by everything fast on the road. if you can't beat a vette, you aren't fast.

The main reason I purchased the X was because of it's kick ass engine. I really don't need (or want for that matter) anymore power for off-road use.

If you're looking for more power, purchase the NISMO headers and air intake system. Next, fab up a true dual exhaust (with crossover) system with low restriction mufflers. Finally, flash the chip (to advance the timing) and run high test fuel. Hang on!
I'm surprised that the supercharger for the 3.5 won't work on the 4.0. Did they give any reasons why? I can't imagine that the two are that different, other than the extra displacement. I mean I could see that it wouldn't be a bolt on, but with some customization it should work. Granted, who knows how much money you would have tied into it.

I agree. Don't the 350z and the X share the same engine? I always thought they were the same engines except the X had a longer piston stroke and a cam geared more towards torque at lower RPM's.

Perhaps it won't fit under the hood? pblsh! If I wanted a supercharger for the 2nd gen X and everything else fit except clearance under the hood, I'd cut a hole...
Thanks for the info. I don't know why the guy said that they are not going to do it nor are the interested in it either. I might end up calling them back if someone can get a pic, price, and info so I can chew them up and spit them out.

Well, Dan, you said if they had one you would buy one for sure. So, get out the credit card. On page 20 of the March 2007 Four Wheeler magazine is an small news clip for the Stillen supercharger for the '05 - '07 Nissan Xterra, Frontier, and Pathfinder (they listed the Xterra last, but they don't get it).

Here are the details:
-50 state legal
-available engine warranty
-increase horsepower by 93hp at the rear wheels
-increase torque by 83 lb-ft at the rear wheels

I called Kyle at 1.888.455.0595 ext. 173 and he quoted the price at $5425!

The kits are now available and he said they have quite a few on the road already.

Ya me too, it was the pretty much the main reason. I love the stock engine every day. If I want a fast car, I'll buy something else.
