So yeah, ever since the X came back from the dealership my stereo has been cutting in and out - mostly out. On the way home, Sirius was on, the screen showed that something was playing, but there was no sound - not out of any of the speakers or the sub. Then randomly it cut on. Then this morning we went out for breakfast and I noticed it cut in and out when we seemed to hit a big bump or pothole or the like.

So, I'm guessing something is grounding out somewhere? But it just seems weird that the screen shows something playing (Sirius, radio, CD, iPod - all the same) but yet nothing is playing through any of the speakers.

grab a multimeter and get a reading at your RF amps.

sounds like your battery cable, or remote wire is loose.

i'd probably check the main power cable first....if your x was at the dealership, they may have unhooked the battery and didn't tighten your amps power cable back on tight enough or possibly damaged the fuse. if you have an agu style fuse (glass type), those are known to fail by bumping it.

yeah, the fuse holder i have is the exact same shape/size as the one you have but it uses a mini anl instead of the agu fuse that you have.

mini-anl are much more dependable under engine heat.

to remove your old one and install the new one, you unscrew the plastic ends....push it back and you'll see a hex/allen set screw. loosen that up and the copper fitting comes out.

then pop in the new one in reverse order. it should only take 4 minutes at the most to do. the hardest part is finding the right sized hex/allen key
