I seem to have some squeaking when spinning wheels in deep packed snow. does not happen in loose powdery snow. only when encountering some resistance .Seems to come from front end . Occurs with VDC ON or OFF. I do not know if it's coming from diff or from axle ends. Used to have similar, not exactly same, but very close sound from auto locking hubs on previous Mitsubishi truck, which can't be the case here, as I do not have any hubs. Anybody encountered same noise in the X with wheels spinning ?Thanks.

Sounds like a cv joint or the diff.

I thought CV joint might create vibration which I do not have. Also I drove in tight circles, and did not feel any noise. As for the diff, what can cause that squeaking ?

I tested today in 2WD, and got same sound at front axle, when you let go of the accelerator. looks like it's some anti slip control sound. Puzzling thing, is that sound occurs even with VDC OFF.
