I just bought a spacer and shackle kit from Daystar and the prices I'm getting quoted are through the roof. I've got expereince working on motorcycles and limited experience on cars... Anyone by chance want to help a brother out (free pizza, drinks, whatever)

I have done spacers, they aren't that tough. Sometimes having a buddy around can help when needing that third hand, other than that, shouldn't take more that 2 hours tops for installing them both. I've never done shackles though. There are plenty of videos on YouTube that you can reference as well.

should only take about an hour. 4 bolts up front, however the lower shock bolt is torqued really hard. I have a big electric impact so i can take my front end apart in about 20 mins both sides. Shackles are equally easy as long as you use a floor jack and your factory scissor jack along with jack stands. i used the factory jack between the frame and leaf pack ( i have a frontier, you would do between frame and axle) to accommodate the larger shackles. i will say though that i usually round at least 1 factory shackle bolt so i usually just cut them off with a grinder...also goes very fast

I just replaced my rear shackles as well and thought I'd offer some of my insight. I was quoted $300 for removal of the old leaf packs and install new leafs and the new shackles that I already had purchased. I decided to do them myself on a Saturday afternoon and save some dough. I was able to get the rear shackle bolt loosened, the ubolts came off no problem, but rounded the head of my front leaf spring bolt on the frame. Get a buddy and use a big breaker bar, the "outside" head of the bolt is 19mm but the "inside" nut, by the gas tank, is a 22mm. The leaf springs come off the shackle by removing the nut and pulling the leafs away from the vehicle. I used a floor jack, the scissor jack and jack stands as mentioned by @Drewbie but also used a good quality ratcheting strap to help realign the leafs onto the leaf perch by the ubolts. Took me several attempts but finally got it using the scissor jack as it goes straight up.
Good luck

I was quoted 430 by trick trucks, 450 by another shop, and 730 by High Tech (which is just f'd up since I grew up with those guys.)

I'm in Gainesville Va just outside of Manassas if anyone can help out. I have no idea what I'm doing and I don't want to bite off more than I can chew.

Like I said I will reward handsomely with all of the beer, bourbon and pizza your heart desires.
