whyare you selling all that?
well, the next logical step for my Xterra build was to custom fab the front suspension, lock the rear end, and start breaking axle shafts and even more expensive stuff...

so, i have decided instead to buy a semi-built XJ and sell the Xterra. I am parting it out to put back to stock ... I'm trying to buy an XJ in the next few weeks.

the idea is to have something i can abuse on the trails more. it's been a tough decision but i spent a lot of time thinking it over, and the XJ will be much cheaper to break and build back up than the X.

The XJ im looking at is already semi built with a currie built 9" ford rear, detroit locked, of course a solid front axle - d30, and much more for about $5k.

i can use it as a trail only rig and not worry if i break it from time to time.

in the mean time I will return the X to stock and baby it while i attempt to sell it privately. if that doesnt work i will probably eventually trade it in. im thinking for a DD, of getting a hybrid civic or something similar. 10MPG DD is killing the wallet.

guys don't get me wrong i love the X and am 100% satisfied with everything i have done to it, and with it.

the only thing is - I grew into the sport much quicker than i expected and now im ready for something i can totally smash and beat around on the rocks.

the X is a very solid platform and should become less expensive to mod as the aftermarket expands but it's still too rich for my blood, at the pace im trying to keep currently.

had i known what i know today, i would have bought a stock 97-99 XJ a year ago and I would have it fully built by now.

I hear u brutha. I'm doing a little lift and armor on the X and that's it. Next stop, full off-road project truck. The wife doesn't appricate the scratches and dings on the X like I do.

This is the reason I bought the Rubi. I realized, no matter how much I like the X and how fun it is, it's just not smart to wheel it hard all the time. I just can't wait to get the Rubi back on the road.

BTW, don't fool yourself. Modding a Jeep is NOT cheap, there are just a lot more options out there.

If you still have the UCA's in a month or so I'll take them off your hands.
I spotted a set of the TC's on a black 05 this weekend, but didn't get a name. Looked good. Wondered how they functioned.

I messed up on the email to you, haha... I meant I will take the sliders and AC coils and AAL if you still have them. I'm in Richmond and could swing down to Newport this weekend or I could take a day off during the week if you want. I still have my stock SE step rails too if you want them.

Just let know, thanks.

That was Steve...05XOR.
Cool. Where you the other 05+ in his group?
Yup I was at PAP with him and a bunch of 1st gens on Saturday. Were you there Sat. parked near him? I thought someone said you had gone home early, I figured that was another red one. I was parked next to the ECXC banner near the entrance.

There were two red 05's. One with a Shrock Front Bumper (me) and one without.

Yes I did leave early and missed Saturday nights party.
