Side Molding Removal?

12586 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  dragonplayboy
Don't ask but I need to replace the two pieces of side molding and clear bra (wheel well rim and larger piece just before the wheel well on the passenger side.

Anyone know the part numbers or better yet how to install the molding pieces? Is there a base that is first attached to the door then the molding is fixed to the base or is it directly glued to the door or something similar? The clear bra is self explanation but any tips would be appreciated.

Thanks!

YOURNNISSANPARTS has em listed. Here under vendors. Shop the site or call. Use a heat gun to remove, they do make special remover in liquid form, they just stick on, you get one chance to try, once stuck, they are stuck!

They use double face tape for moldings...after you remove your existing molding, use Wax and Grease remover(any Auto Body store) to clean your door..It will take some time to remove the existing "glue" but your paint won't be harmed by that chemical....Then, to get the molding straight, run a tape line off any existing moldings for the guide.....

That is just cruel to put restrictions on your post. Especially when you start out a post with "Don't ask"

X2 you have to show us some pics of the damage :geek:
I removed mine this past weekend. it's not too hard, just saw up under it for a few inches, and then you can get a grip and pull it off. then you've got an hour worth of rubbing off the double sided tape and giving yourself blisters. spray it with some water and give it some heat, it'll come off easier.
(saw up under it with dental floss or fishing line)
