I've noticed that on my side mirrors, the plastic looks like the previous owner NEVER washed the car and so there is a sort of staining on them. It seems to be mostly on the flat part that the mirror rotates on, where leaves and such would easily get stuck. The paint has a similar staining on what I'm hoping is just the clear coat. Anyone have any suggestions as to how to remove this?

Drive into a local automobile detailing shop, and ask them - if it's "something simple", and they are a good shop, they will just tell you what to do yourself, rather than trying to talk you into having them detail your truck.

Another place to stop by and ask would be a local auto body repair shop, especially in regards to the paint.

I would wax the plastic on the mirrors.

For the paint on the body I would clay it then wax it. If that does not bring back a good shine you have more serious damage.
