EDIT BY MODERATOR , 15 January 2023:

On 14 January 2023, ShrockWorks formally announced the cessation of all operations.

"After two decades of serving the off-road community, it is with heavy hearts that we announce we have to close our doors. We assure you every other option has been extensively explored. This is the last outcome we ever imagined for the company we have worked so hard to build. The last few years of economic hardship and rising cost of goods has been detrimental for small businesses. We have heard all of your frustrations and understand completely; we are working hard to assure the best outcome for a terrible situation. Thank you for your years of support and your patience as we navigate this difficult process. "

This thread has been re-titled and the focus shall now be on efforts by members of this forum to obtain refunds for pending or unfulfilled orders, the processes and procedures used by members of this forum to obtain such refunds, and any information about bankruptcy filings by ShrockWorks.

Editorial about ShrockWorks' business practices should be saved for another time and another thread. The focus should now be on the task at hand - helping our fellow members get refunds if there are any refunds to be had.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

According to one of the Facebook groups I'm following:

"ATTENTION PEOPLE that are still waiting for your ShrockWorks 4x4 products. A buddy in Houston just verified that they fired all workers on the spot today and closed shop. I know LOTS of people on the 4runner page has been complaining of no communication since last year.
Sucks another reputable/quality company that just took on way too make orders than they can handle. I have personally gone to their shop and saw people's orders just sitting there."

Here is what happens when you go to their site now.

Oh wow thats too bad. They have been around a long time! I am glad that I was able to get my skid plates and bumper when I did. I really hope things turn for the best for them.

I think someone should create a ongoing list of places to support and places to avoid based on your experience. That way, before you order or pay for anything, you could quickly scan the list(s) and decide if the shop you are thinking about fir parts or service deserve your patronage and hard earned money. I wish I knew how to create 2 new categories on the main page for this purpose.

just gonna say it.....any company that just ghosts their customers for months at a time, then simply posts to their website that they have gone out of business, can suck it. These types of companies have become all too familiar with taking their customer's money and leaving ridiculously long lead times, but when things come to an end they just leave their loyal customers in the dark and vanish. F' them...if they don't refund every unfulfilled order 100%, PLUS INTEREST, can enjoy their failure.

Agreed, but how do I know who is reputable BEFORE they screw you over??

Damn, that sucks. I hope that all of those with outstanding orders can file claims with their credit cards.

I love my bumper. Glad I didn't wait to order it. Took 6 mos to get but was well worth the wait.

Hardcore Offroad in Pa is another choice.

My Fab guy here in San Jose stopped doing business with them early on in their business life.
I asked him why and he told me they could never deliver product in a timely manner. NEVER.
And that he could not run his business while being dependent on a vendor who could never make timely deliveries. This business ran that way for 20+ years?

Try a credit card chargeback, or maybe the insurance/consumer protection. It's your best bet at this point.
Literally just got off the phone with my bank. Its no guarantee that I'll get it back since its pushing 120 days for the claim time limit but I have strong documentation of trying to get a hold of them over the entire period of time and the rep was willing to work through the details to help my case.

While I knew what I was getting into placing an order with them, I don't think anyone expected them to go belly up like this. I hope the owners of Shrockworks get no peace. While they were dodging my emails and calls over the months I still got their newsletters so they were still taking orders and peoples' money the entire time.

if this is true, this would be the last off-road fab company i would have expected to go under. They seemed very old school, grumpy to deal with on the phone, social media, etc but they have been in business for almost 20 years and ALWAYS seemed to put out a quality product.
I suspect if they went out of business that it wasn't due to a lack of business...but do to a lack of skilled labor or a lack of desire to stay in business(may have decided it was time to fold it up due to both)
