Shrock Front Bumper from AC - Shipping?

4196 Views 26 Replies 12 Participants Last post by  S_e_X-Terra
I noticed AC has the Shrock front bumper for over $100 cheaper than going directly to Jim. http://www.4x4parts.com/public_html...&category_id=4a54558b393e83c56d893abe9bb1472c

Anyone know off hand how much AC charges for shipping for the Shrock Bumper?

Well according to your location more than Jim, Or, maybe it ships from Jims. This looks bad don't it? Got to be a difference somewhere, I just can't find it. Buy your own hardware? MC

In the AC photo of the bumper, there is no opening on the front for the winch cable.
I just emailed AC, asking if we can order in the gray powdercoat. I will order from AC if he can deliver a better turn around time than direct to shrock...
AC can not as they do not stock Shrock items...they do the same as you and order from Jim and the item ships from Jim. No matter what AC tells you, you will most likely not get it any faster.

As for being cheaper, there probably isn't a difference. AC is a Shrock dealer and Jim has to give his dealers better pricing than Joe off the street. It just looks like AC is giving you a bit of that discount.
also, jim fairly recently changed his pricing...i know AC is horrible about updating their stuff
I'm thinking of ordering the unpainted one then just getting it powdercoated locally.

Honestly, if you can find someone to clean and powder coat cheaper than what Jim charges, I'll be shocked.

And after getting my front bumper unfinished, I came to the conlusion that saving that ~$100 or so wasn't worth it. It is a real pain to clean (unless you have a sand blaster).

You said it. I got an unfinished rear bumper that I painted myself. That a huge pain in the ass that was. Take my word for it, pay for the powdercoating. Skids are another matter. Paint those yourself.
Would like to be a little different tho - rather than Grey or Black. Might have it powder coated in Granite :) Cost really isn't why I'm considering it.

Jim will powder coat it any color you want. You just have to ask.

He did anthony's on UNYX wife sliders in pink

I got Kim an early surprise Christmas present. A set of Shrockbars in her favorite color. I also made her some stickers to go with them.

:D

Lol, "I did NOT vote for Bush!"

Hey I can't get stickers to adhere to my powder coated sliders for the life of me... What gives?

Did you wipe the area down with rubbing alchol?
Well, Not for me, but I am amazed at how good Pink looks on that X. Very nicely done. I'd never imagine, don't let my wife see that! MC

I had to laugh when he pulled up to pick up my camper. it was Anthony and his father in a blue X with pink sliders and stickers. Too funny!
LOL Yea I did not think of that aspect! I can imagine me running to Autozone in that! They'd give me directions to the Fashion Bug across the street. But my wife would do it just to keep me out of it. She has a Betty Boop window decal and I won't drive her car with just that on it. MC
I got a couple replies from AC, he is simply a middleman. He orders and it's the same(slightly better, lol) lead time.
Most businesses have a contract that you can undersell the agreed to bottom price. How does that make you look? When all you do is change the name on the sales order and it's $100 off? That's just wrong. I could see if AC Ordered a Lot as in lot of them and had them in stock for delivery this week. Then maybe sell for more. But not like this for less. Unless...........they are seconds. All Opinion I may add. MC
Well if they are seconds and they don't fit. AC have been awesome with me in the past about resolving any problems. I think I'm gonna order it before they change the price. I think they are just slow in updating to Jims new pricing or somethin.
I don't understand your issue with Jim having several other people selling his items. It is all part of standard business.

It happens at Yellow freight.

I can go to a shipping middleman and he will find me the best price to move my freight from NJ to OH. He gets me his cheapest price, which happens to be at Yellow trucking (Why is it called Yellow and you drive Orange trucks?)

or I can go direct to yellow and get a price.

Happens everyday.
