So, Bobby (XVTer) and I are chillin here and decided that when Mark and Steve come out to Colorado in October, that we should have the Second Annual Shocker Run. Last years run at R. Creek was a great success. So, why not have it in Colorado this year. Mark & Steve - pick dates for when you'll be out here and let's get this thing organized.

EDITED: 7-21-08
Alright, I'm thinking scheduling and arrangements. Here's a tentative schedule - by no means finished.
10/4 - 10/5: Driving time for people to get out here

10/6 - Drive to Ft Collins and run Kelly Flats and Seven Mile - Sliders and 33" tires required. Camp on Seven Mile

10/7 - Drive to near Boulder and run Left Hand Canyon. After Left Hand run Middle St. Vrain outside of Nederland and camp along there for the night. -Stock Friendly Day

10/8 - Finish Middle St. Vrain and run Coney Flats. After Coney Flats, run up Pickle Gulch over to Apex and over Yankee Hill back to my house. Pinstriping guaranteed; sliders, skids, lift, 33's req'd for Coney Flats - the remainder is stock friendly for the most part - Return to and stay in Evergreen

10/10 - Spring Creek up to Saxon Mtn. - DIFFICULT - Rock Crawling - I have yet to run this trail, but will soon. If it's too crazy, we'll find something else. Return to Evergreen - Shocker Party

10/11 - 10/12 - Everyone from not-here drives home (10/11 - Wheelin with the locals in the afternoon - I'll let you guys decide where we want to go)

I have sleeping for 8 or 9. That includes floor space.

Here's a roster of who's coming and where they're staying:

Creek - John - Home
SexterraPA - Steve - Creek's?
XVTer - Bobby - Creek's?
matrix - Dan - Creek's?
Webfur - Yasha - Creek's?
CG - Chris - Home
Schlizy - Larry - Hotel?
Guit Fiddle(?) - Ben - Home

There's a hotel 10 mins from my house.

Who else is coming out?

Schedule subject to change depending on early snow.

ETA - The AZXC guys have next dibs at my place for the hospitality that I recieved while there AND there's tent spots here too

Hmm, I like the idea of this. If Mark & I are already planning to come out there then maybe Bobby can join our convoy.

So:

Bobby drives down to PA to meet me.

We both drive to Ohio to meet Mark.

The 3 of us drive to CO to meet up at Johns.

And, anyone who wants to join the convoy on the way is welcome. Or, anyone can just meet up in CO.

We could make it a 3 day Shocker Run.

I am already thinking of new stickers!

Hehehe.

I will come up with a better sticker this time because I will have more than enough time to get them designed and printed. Last year was such a rush for me and the printing company.

We have to get a huge buzz going for this one.

The earlier in October the better as far as weather. Each year is variable, but by Halloween, the higher passes are often impassable. Still some decent wheeling, but not the really scenic stuff (IMO).

If we go much later, we may have to fight the snow.
... which may be just as much fun.

Are you keeping the run stocker friendly? Because I seriously doubt I will have time or finances to do much to my X. Though I'd love to join, at least for some trails.

The 1st Annual Shocker Run had 1 day of advanced wheeling and 1 day of stocker friendly wheeling.

I would assume as co-founder, that I can wrangle up at least 1 day for stock friendly trails. I would even volunteer to lead if need be.

Everyone should have the opportunity to be Shocked.
