You know, getting some skid plate armor would help create a lower center of gravity...

... in other words, reducing rollover likelihood

That was my thinking - all added weight is at and/or below wheel well level and below.

i really really dislike those test....

i read it else where, and its confirmed on that site you sent. something like 95% of rollovers are caused by something on the road, or alongside the road ("tripping" the vehicle if you will)...

and most of those ratings are just calculated from numbers and have little or no bearing on real life. its just a number so people can feel better (or worse)

I've seen the aftermath of a few X's that have been in roll overs and I like what I see. So they might be more likely to roll than some other SUV's, but they sure as hell handle the roll well.

Those pictures also illustrate perfectly why Bull Bars aren't always a good option. You can see they bent into the hood / fenders and caused quite a bit of damage themselves.
