They just called and the salesman who sold me said his manager informed him they will not fit because of Calapiers..!! He suggested something in a American Racing Rim Baja Chrome?? 16x8 6on4.5 4.5 b/s

Wonder why one rim would go and the other wont ,same measurments??

There are plenty of wheels with those specs, yet as many people have discovered very few wheels fit. As he said, it is an issue with caliper clearance. It is in the way the wheel is constructed, not the size, bolt pattern, or BS that keep them from fitting.

The ones on the Frontier are 8089's. In the pictures they look similar to the 6089's you ordered, and maybe they are, but like sexterra said...if it fits on a Frontier, I don't know why it wouldn't fit on an X. I ordered four 8089's and they haven't contacted me about it...we'll see.

Yeah they look to be the same with just different finishes. If they contact me and say they don't fit, I'm gonna still have them send one for me to try, and if it doesn't fit I'll send it back and pay the shipping. But if they are on a Frontier, I think they should fit the X just fine.

I am just trying to think of reasons why it might have fit on the Frontier and not the X. I can see it using a different caliper setup if it's a 2wd.

Wheels that won't fit on the front of the X fit fine on the back.

Hmm, I don't know, I'll take a look at the SM.

I can see the hub being different between a 2wd and a 4wd which would cause the clearence issues. But, that would most likely mean there would be different rotors.

Sorry fellas...I ended up cancelling.

I decided today no more mods for the X. My commute is jumping up 50 miles each way when I go back to school in January, and I was going to pick up a commuter car...but I found a place today that's perfect, and there's no way I'll be able to have 2 cars (I'm already having to pay to park one...it's IN the city) so I will likely be switching to a small car sometime next year. Which means the X might have to go next year and thus, no more mods!

I didn't realize they even offered the Frontier in a 4-banger. A 2WD 4-banger may very well use different components. That sucks...oh well...I woulda still tried if I were gonna buy the wheels but since I changed my mind, someone else should do it!

Yeah, I know, I don't want to, but commuting in the X doesn't make any sense when I could have something that does 35MPG. The thing is I wasn't planning on going back to school for another 3 years or so, but when the thought came up and I realized I can do it soon, I decided to.

Someone near them should drive their X there to see if it fits! Or someone near that Frontier...buy him a beer for letting you take off his wheel for five minutes!
