It was really nice weather this weekend throughout most of the NC Piedmont.

Parked at a trailhead to take a nice walk along the Haw River.

Came back to Sheriff cars and a smashed window.

3 vehicles at the same time had the same outcome.

For us a window to deal with and a half dozen phone calls. Didn't even take the 5 bucks in quarters in the center console I keep for the car wash.

I sort of dont get it? I do have a Ham antenna that would make them think there was a radio in it, but it was not.

Sort of venting because it is a PITA to get the window replaced, luckily the X lives in the garage at night.

It has become really common here at all the hiking trails. We even have one that is adjacent to a big park with sports fields and homes and cars get hit there all the time. It is getting to the point I think some Upright Citizens need to start hanging out in the bushes with some baseball bats and when the cops come to pick up these pieces of trash everyone can keep saying.. "nobody saw anything officer".

People really do suck sometimes.

For a replacement, I had a 2x4 smash out my front passenger years ago and paid $75 for a replacement from a full service junkyard, one of those where you order a part and they pull it, you can't do it yourself, which is why it was so pricey. There were no 2nd gen Xterra's in any other yards within 100 miles so I had to go that route.
