With some time and it sitting on the table, it is clear the only failure was the spider gears. Obviously the failure resulted from under-engineering as 1/2 the cogs simply stripped off from torque load. Nissan wont like this analsys in court, thats for sure. I still am concerned that since these 2 gears failed so easily, the 4 spider may still be a problem. And, the Titan guys seem to have proven that. I am hard pressed to see the locker side gear being a problem as the Xterra Racing guys have had, but maybe I dont see it. Also, the rear cross pin seems solid enough.(I know the front is bad) From there, the housing, locker design, monster 32 spline shafts seem great. It may be possible to make the E-Locker live with some help in re-design from Dana/ Nissan. I know this wont help the front, but I feel like the rear is solid with a new locker unit and skid plate. Love the Eaton Trac Loc LSD so far!
