What he said. The oil pressure gauge in the X actually moves when the pressure changes. Unlike most stock gauges in other vehicles I've owned.

If you want to replace the gauge you probably don't want a truely mechanical gauge. That means you will be running an oil line into the interior. Most gauges now will have an electronic sender.

Well, I am sure you could hook one up. Don't know anyone that bothered though. I just look at it as, at least the X has a real gauge and not just a dummy light.

Dummy Light??? I think that brightens my day... :albino:

But I agree, the stock guage works well and would put my money and time elsewhere to mod the X.

True, there is always money to be spent on the X! :)
I guess I'm just a fanatic when it comes to lubrication. Only 3100 miles and I've been on ALL synthetic for a while now. There is only one thing that keeps our trucks from grinding to dust and that is a very thin film of oil...
