Man I went outside this morning and there was a puddle under the rear
and it was just what I thought.....the dreaded D44 lip got peeled back yesterday, oh well I was comming up on 30k anyway. I don't think it will happen again because the rock ground off the lip that use to hang down

The kicker is I was wheeling with my buddy Dave who has been in the process of making me a rear diff cover.

I wanted to add amsoil to my diffs and transfer case when
it was time but being it is my dd I had to use what the auto place had so I went with royal purple oil.....any thoughts on this stuff is it ok,good ,great or should I drain it in 2k(when I hit 30k) and go with the amsoil all around

I am running Royal Purple in the rear right now. I have never used it before, but the Jeep crowd acts as if it was poured from the holy grail or something.

I figure I'll be changing mine every 30K any way so as long as it acts like gear oil I should be fine.

Unconventional recovery, worked great

Thanks DAVE!!! (told me to definitely NOT fill up more than a 1/4 tank...had to leave the park to get gas, and then come back)
